But Tom says he's cutting ties with them. Whatever. Wake up Tom, you are a loose cannon.

I think as long as his movies continue to make big $$, he'll have a career in Hollywood. Lots and LOTS of H'wood folks engage in bad behavior (Mel Gibson, Woody Allen and so on). None of that matters if the money keeps rolling in. I don't think the people who like his movies will stop seeing them because he jumped on Oprah's sofa or had a fight with Brooke Shields and all the rest of the well-documented weirdness. In fact all this press may help make him hotter; "there's no such thing as bad publicity" as they say.

If only Katie Holmes will wake up before she marries this idiot. To be honest, wacko Tom is probably set financially for the rest of his life. If this does wash him up in Hollywood, he'll probably take the road many has-beens do and work from behind the camera. It's a shame that he doesn't believe in psychiatric drugs because they could be so helpful to him - and us! Then we wouldn't have to see his stupid shenanigans on TV.

Click to view attachmentNot sure what this will accomplish, really. Many stars get cut from their studios, then go on to make hit movies, afterward. In this case, though . . . maybe we'll get lucky.

Crazy is set for multiple lifetimes...the man is a megamillionaire. He's not worried about that aspect of it, I'm quite sure. Crazy has all the money he needs and then some.
I'm sure he'll keep making movies. Some other studio will foot the bill for his films. If being a nutcase prevented people from making movies, Hollywood would be a ghost town.
I'm hoping that Katie will wake up sometime soon and make her escape. I think Crazy has her brainwashed.

Click to view attachmentYou know, I don't think TC has ever been 'right,' since he and Crazy Eyes, made that Kubrick film: EYES, SHUT OPEN . . . that was one, WEIRD movie. Newsweek called it a masterpiece. You could have fooled, me . . .

If Sumner Redstone were so concerned about bad behavior and image, why did he just sign the South Park creators? I'm guessing he wouldn't offer Tom and Co. what they wanted, so rather than have Tom announce he was leaving, which would make Redstone look like an idiot for letting the Golden Goose escape, he beat him to the punch. Redstone is accustomed to getting his own way, but he is a corporate man, not a filmmaker.

"Movie Experts" claim that was the best movie, Clockwork Orange. I think you have to be really stoned to understand those movies mentioned.

It seems to me that he's pretty much been on a tear ever since he dumped Nicole. Everyone seems to forget that he did so not long after they renewed their wedding vows (after ten years of marriage). I've always wondered what prompted that sudden breakup, but I'm guessing we won't find out. It strikes me as bizarre.
I dunno what Katie sees in him, but I've gotta wonder how gullible she is. Here's hoping she makes a break for it.
As for me, I think men who've already been unsuccessfully married more than once are a risky proposition. Yeah, they may be ready to straighten up and fly right, but then again, they might well be headed for yet another divorce.

One rumor is that Sumner Redstone, a hideous looking old coot, is p*ssy whipped and didn't renew Cruise's deal because Mrs. Redstone didn't like what Cruise said about Brooke Shields.
I think Rob Reiner hit the nail on the head -- the reason War of the Worlds lost money isn't because Tom jumped on a couch and scared the fans away. It's because Paramount doesn't know how to structure deals.
Either way, Paramount has egg on its face.

Tom has made quite a few hundred million for Paramount. Who knows why he was cut. His people said he is the one that didn't want to renew his contract with them.
I can take him or leave him. Even his bad movies made money, though. As far as his behavior, the couch incident and the Today Show incident are small potatoes compared to some of the stuff we see celebs pulling. Matt Lauer is even on his side saying there are plenty of celebs in and out of rehab and doing all kinds of crazy things, many illegal, and movie companies do nothing about it.
Oh, lets not forget how many times he's been good samaritan. Boy, we are a harsh crowd nowadays, huh?

Orchidbloom, I'm with you on this. He may do things that are kooky and you might not agree with his philosophy of life but they're not harmful--except perhaps to the pockets of a few psyciatrists. Not even to Brooke Shields because it's only his opinion and she doesn't have to listen to it.

I put it right up there with Ishtar, Plan 9 from Outer Space, and Hiroshima Mon Amour as one of the worst movies ever made. It was absolutely unendurable. The only reason I sat through it was because the idiot I was with was convinced it would get better. No such luck.
And, before I hijack this thread, I will add that I think that Tom is going the way of Fatty Arbuckle. A few more wacko public outbursts and he'll be unemployable.
