I'm looking to download a few songs as mp3 files and I was looking around for a good service. I tried Yahoo! Musicmatch but they suck. I have had so many problems with downloading. So, I would like recommendations. Thanks.

The whisper through the grapevine-- I wouldn't know, y'see-- is that eMule P2P is the best. I've heard it said that, effin' it cain't be got here, it cain't be got nowhere.

I've used Soulseek since the day Audiogalaxy went legs up. I love it, but I use it mostly for my hard to find electronic or avant-gardish music treats.

It's annoying that you can't see what they've got until you join, that's why I always hesitate. A lot of music I'm looking for has proven impossible to find on the net.

It might be a particular song by Michael Omartian or First Call - very hard to find.

What's driving me nuts about a lot of these sites is that the music is in a proprietary format. I don't want to buy a song in a format that I can only play in iTunes or on an iPod. I just want the d*#@ mp3 file that I can play on my computer and on my stereo which actually can play mp3.

I have had Bearshare for over 3 years and I like it. I download Mp3 songs and make my own CDs.
