Full Version: I Went To See The American Idol Tour Show!

A as in Apple
Last nigh Dh and I went to see the American Idol concert at our local arena. It was a great time - all 10 of the finalists performed and were friendly & outgoing with the audience. The audience response was huge - as big as for any rock star. Audience members ranged the full gamut in age, which I felt made it even more fun. And of course everyone had their own favorites; it wasn't just all about Taylor or Katherine. We got our tickets free, which of course made it even better! Has anyone else caught the AI concert tour?

Just realized this should be in the Music forum rather than Arts....

What fun, A! I heard the recent try-outs were brutal in the extreme!!! Can't believe how popular this show has become. Thanks for giving us a first-hand look...see anyone who might be a contender?

This was a show featuring this past year's 10 finalists: the winner, Taylor Hicks, as well as Katherine McPhee, Chris, Elliott, Bucky, Ace, Kellie, Lisa, Paris, and Mandesa. They are on a cross-country tour singing individually and in duets. By the time I had decided I might really like to see all of them again and be willing to pay money for it, all the tickets were sold out. Luckily a friend of my son-in-law was able to snag two at the radio station where he works. 17,000 people, young & old, screaming and having fun. Taylor was of course his wild & crazy self. : )

Australian Idol started in 2003 and they all did a concert too - then they filmed and showed one of those live concerts on tv.

Oh it would have been great to be there live though, much better.

I'm glad you enjoyed your live show, A. They are not showing American Idol in Australia this year for some reason. I'm not sure why, it always got good ratings, although the local one does better in our ratings.

I've always thought it would be fun to see one of these concerts but - like the vast majority of concerts these days - can't bring myself to spend the money for them. But free tickets - how fun for you!
