Boy I wouldn't mind being haunted if the ghost looked like Rex Harrison!

I just love this movie - soooooo romantic....
I vaguely remember the TV series, too.

I'll never forget my brother telling me about this movie. We were driving someplace and he was telling me the plot, and suddenly he was choking. I thought he was having a fit or a heart attack or something. No; it turns out he was all choked up. What a softie.
Great movie.

The score by Bernard Herrman is a luscious masterpiece. The movie's ending makes me weep sometimes.

I never saw the show (before my time), but I love the movie. It's so sweet, it captures that 'wholesome' feeling of that Hollywood era, when stories like that were considered romantic, and it didn't matter that they were believable or not, people just accepted the 'magic' and went with it. Love it. :-)

Yes, that's a very sweet, romantic movie...love it! It's a wonder that Hollywood hasn't attempted a remake (maybe they will).

Oh yes what a lovely movie. When i saw it the first time when young I just had to know what a monkey puzzle tree was. I now know them and when I see them I think of this movie. They are VERY prickly!

Chenas, I think you are going to love this one.
As for a remake, I think Mr. Gerard Butler would be perfect as the grumpy ghost*! And it would take place in Scotland! And....I would play Mrs. Muir!
*Of course, he has already played a very famous grumpy ghost. Why are ghosts so grouchy?

My mother tells of watching "The Ghost And Mrs. Muir" on TV with me when I was around five years old. At some point I turned to her and said, "Mom, she's really pretty".
