The movie "Water" available in dvd is highly recommended.
The young actress Sarala ( who steals the movie from two adult leads both of whom are models) never acted before, did not speak Hindi , learned the lines phonetically and walks away with the movie.
She communicates feelings with great passion
and will change your view of child actors.
A beautiful and sad story.
Do not read on if you plan to see the movie as sites contain spoilers.

Just this weekend, I saw the first movie in the Elemental Trilogy, Fire. It is very, very good. It was directed by Deepa Mehta, the same woman who directed Water.

Sounds expressive and touching. Will try to see it.

From what I understand, Deepa Mehta is not particularly well-liked in India due to the subject matter of her first movie, Fire.

I am going to have to sniff around for the others in this trilogy,I think I might like this directors work. It was so well done and it is one of John Abrahams best roles to date.
At the moment I also have a yen to watch Raincoat and Main Aisa Hi Hoon , anything starrubg Ajay Devgan in fact.
