Click to view attachment With autumn on the way, I've been enjoying muffins! Lately, I've been going back to my old favorite . . . blueberry. I warm them, spread a little butter on top, and add maple syrup. Voila! Hotcakes, without the mess . . .

Which are your favorite muffin recipes? Do you like them hot, or cold? And do you bake muffins, yourself? Hmmmm?

Blueberry muffins for me too, Mietros, also corn and cranberry orange. I love them warm. As much as I love to bake, I hardly ever make muffins. I don't know why.
Colonia
While I'm a pretty good cook, I've always hated to bake. So I buy muffins. Non-pastry baked goods are my downfall so I usually buy a serving at a time. My favorite muffin comes from the in-store bakery of my local supermarket. Pistachio. They are a bilious shade of green and probably have a zillion calories, but I love them. Only 3 or 4 times a year, though. Cranberry-orange muffins or scones are also good.

Corn muffins with blueberries. Corn muffins plain. Corn and pumpkin muffins. The Gershwin brothers knew, corn muffins win the heart and the election: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/soundtracks/...tteelyrics.html

Those jalapenos, look HEAVENLY!! I bake 'Santa Fe' cornbread with jalapenos and pimiento, right in my cast iron skillet! Comfort food, from the land of enchantment. Bring on, the fall!

Muffins are not my weakness but...................corn bread would be. Those jalapeno muffins looks pretty darn good!!

I admit a weakness for the frozen Vitamuffins in bran flavor. They're small, 100 calories each, but still substantial. Lovely raisins and things in there. Heat and a little (fake) butter, and I'm a happy puppy.

Now those sound like something a WW like me would like to know about.

Bran muffins, or pumpkin muffins, with chopped apricots, nuts, raisins, dates, maybe cherries just for color - any or all of these added to your basic muffin batter.
Rosebud
Blueberry, Morning Glory (rather like Carrot Cake) or Cream Cheese muffins for me. I also make muffins from Malt o'meal cereal and they're really tasty. And I LOVE jalapeno corn muffins/bread. Yum. Now I'm hungry from chili and jalapeno corn muffins.
Fulltiltredhead
Cranberry orange muffins, with cream cheese.
Cornbread muffins, split, toasted under the broiler, slathered with butter.
Ah, this is happiness.

Anything buttery and nutty. when I saw those corn muffins, I thought of hot buttery corn muffins with French hot chocolate. I have had this treat at a coffee shop somewhere in the Village years ago. The corn muffins were toasted and the hot chocolate was made from milk, shaved chocolate with butter IN THE COCOA!!!!They put the hot milk, chocolate and a dollop of unsalted butter in the blender, whirled it around and then poured it into huge mugs, topped with whipped cream.....Not for the faint of heart.

They're advertised in WW magazine all the time. They're in the freezer. Theres also corn, banana, and chocolate, but the bran are the best! :-)

Egad. Stop it! STOP IT, I SAY! It sounds like a thousand calorie event!

I make two kinds, chopped pecans and mashed bananas, a bit bread-y, great with butter. Or with raspberries, saffron and marzipan/almond paste. Mmm!
