I would consider the American "Golden Age" of cinema to about from 1927 (with the advent of the first "talkie") to about 1960. Or, more precisely, 1963, with the costly debâcle that was Elizabeth Taylor's CLEOPATRA.
There are not too, too many stars still living who were highly visible during this time.... How many can you name?
Off the top of my head, I'm thinking:
Doris Day
Olivia DeHavilland
Charlton Heston
Shirley Maclaine
Paul Newman
Elizabeth Taylor
Jerry Lewis
Kim Novak
Joanne Woodward
Margaret O'Brien
Shirley Temple
Robert Blake

All I could think of was Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman. It is a shame how few are left...time marches on...

The above are some of the few who are left from MGM days who have agreed to participate in a tribute to the late June Allyson. Have Liz and Debbie ever spoken since their famous rift?
