Esquire's 'sexiest woman alive,' would rather be remembered as an intellectual, with fine working kidneys. btw: if she's twenty-one, I'm forty.

Where is she from? You just need her high school yearbook to find out her age. Most actors are told to lop off five years when they are just starting out. Ashton Kutcher is five years older than his stated age, so he's not that much younger than Demi. 8 or 9 years, I think.

...Scarlett Johansen is not the sexiest woman to *me*.... she kind of annoys me. I remember someone on here saying they went to acting camp (?) with her and she was a conceited little snot. She's way overrated, IMO.
doroula
I don't consider her sexy, either. Nothing special, really.
VelvetSky
She's sort of cute, but sexy? I don't get it.
Catie Ribbons
I find her very sexy -- in a a ripe, robust sort of way.
She doesn't look like a woman who would faint, easily...or waste away...
Just saw her again, in "The Island", and she's built like a brick...er...house.
Armanis
Perfume Me, I'm always suspicious of celebrity ages. Usually, I add ten years.

Scarlett's pretty I guess, although I wouldn't call her any beauty . . . perhaps sexy doesn't mean what it used, to mean. With the current rage in plastic surgery, it's become much easier to acquire hour glass figures, artificial though they may be. For me, that sends a subliminal message: synthetic. I'm far less inclined, afterward to look inside the person.
Catie Ribbons
Armanis...I don't think Johansson is one who has had all kinds of plastic surgery, and I do believe she's in her early twenties.
I've seen pics of her when she was a kid...and her facial features are the same.
Her nose isn't "perfect" like the kind done by surgeons...and her lips have always been full.
And her breasts are rather natural looking, in that they look heavy and sag a bit, like most 'full-figured' (thinking of the Jane Russell bra commercials!) women's. They don't look like the bags of saline or silicone that just sort of .... sit there....

She looks natural, to me. Maybe that's why I find her so sexy.
Armanis
Oh, I didn't mean to write that Johansson has been done over . . . it's just that nowadays, in Hollywood . . . these procedures are so common. Almost, a 'given.' Catie . . . maybe she IS, twenty-one . . . anything, is possible.
Colonia
I've seen pictures of her when she was 14 or so and she looked 30 then. Also, she's always been cast as older. Remember Lost in Translation? I think she was only around 18, maybe even younger, when that was made. Besides the killer bod, she has an unusual face. You can't take your eyes off her.
Armanis
Colonia . . . she certainly looks older than 21, to me. But, I'm a cynic . . . and as you say, these gals tend to look much older than they are, at an early age. Liz Taylor was SEVENTEEN, in A Place in the Sun . . .

remember, Colonia . . . Scarlett wants you to notice her brains.
rasputin
She does a kind of "vacant, nobody's home" thing that worked well enough for her in PEARL EARRING.

You want my honest opinion?

All right.......
I rather see HER overrated than that listless, expressionless Keira-something they 're equally pushing as the latest star. At least Scarlett can ACT.

Scarlett is indeed young (don't know exactly, but she appeared very young, early teens in The Horse Whisperer in 1998. )
If she has cut a bit off her age, it can't be more than a year or two. (in which case, I don't see the point???)
Some people do have a more mature physique than others in early age (hormones, heredity and ethnicity have a lot to do with that).
Some women on the other hand possess a woman's -and not a child's- face even when very young. Liz Hurley, Paulina Poriskova, Catherine McCormack are good examples, if you can catch their teen photos. Liz Taylor was another one too.

Scarlett combines both worlds: womanly, serious face from early on and womanly body. (shouldn't we embrace that?)

And I don't think there has been any major surgery going on (she even had a tad of cellulite in Lost in Translation, very refreshing to see in a Hollywood movie - I usually associate that with lots of oestrogen, aka natural full breasts, LOL)

As to "sexy" and "sexiest"....these are labels in a consumer's world. Sex sells. If one attaches the label of sexy on something, deservingly or not, that something will sell. Period. Esquire is a man's mag (have leafed through it lots of times at various places) and these things are always on its cover, sexiest this and sexiest that, latest flavour of the day. Why would any straight man go and actualy buy a mag, else? To see the latest fashions?I doubt it. They could see the gadgets in another mag, specialised one. Men's mags sell on sexy images and self-improvement/image promises.
However, I do think Scarlett is a healthy individual with a wink in the eye when she so chooses.

Sexy can have many permutations. Doesn't have to be femme fatale style always. Tends to become a cliché
otherwise and what's sexy about that?
Demetrue
Well, her twin brother is also listed as being born in November, 1984 ... She always looked very young to me, like a young face on a womanly body.
Armanis
Okay, okay, Scarlett IS, twenty-one. She could have fooled, me. Remember: it's her brains, kidneys, liver and heart that she wants to notice.
Donna255
I agree with Helg.

Lets be honest if she had appeared in the fifties she would have fitted that mold to a T.
Armanis
Yes, and no, Donna. I don't think SJ is nearly as beautiful as the sex symbols, from that era. But that's a matter of taste . . .

LOL, you're right. I also find pretentious the quotes about brains of people who have been established as "sexy" first. I mean.....duh......how greedy can one get?

Anyway, Scarlett is young, she'll learn.
sharilstuff
Well, she's worked with Woody Allen and Sofia Coppola who are, whether you dig their work or not, obviously thinking people. So, to me, that says a bit more than just that she's sexy because they can find tons of sexy women to use if it's merely that, no? She indeed can act, in my opinion. Is she a tremendous actress? No, but she's also quite young. I think she has potential to be and apparently a couple of noted directed think so as well.

Well if she wants them to be appreciated, she should pose for magazine covers with her kidneys and liver hanging out, rather than her t*ts and *ss.

HA! Thanks folks I'll be here all week.

I think she has something that makes her interesting to watch.

I applaud her for not becoming an anorexic stick figure. Maybe her independent-mindedness is what makes her stand out.
