I got my sample of this a week or so ago.

What a lovely fragrance!

I don't know where I got the description below, but it might be helpful.

I don't know exactly how to describe it. I get a blast of pepper up front but not like coup de fouet, and underneath is this lovely mix of scents that blend together nicely and seque into a new feel.

I like several of her fragrances, but have only bought OJ...shared a bottle of Taif...and some Tolu. I love her men's scents too. I wish she had more of her scents in an accessible price range.

It reminds me to wear another of hers when this one disappears.

>>pink pepper, cardamom, iris (obviously), coriander seed, bergamot, pimento berries, myrrh and patchouli in it, among other things.

>>It's one of those perfumes that is both comforting and sensual; it's exotic but not overpowering, and it smells like a classic even though it's new.

Karin, I tried this when I visited the Ormonde Jayne store in the end of September. It is fairly soft, and perhaps one of the more conventional Ormonde Jayne scents. It does not have the strong originality that Tolu, Ormonde and Taif do. What I found surprising was how quickly this dissapeared on my skin. I could not smell it on my wrist after an hour. I did enjoy the peppery topnotes, and this is a plush, powdery interpretation of iris, which is more old fashioned and traditional than the vegetal, rooty irises that have been released recently (eg Iris Silver Mist, Hiris, Bois d'Iris).
Vanille
Lasts all day on me, but fairly quickly loses the bright topnotes, so that I'm left with a soft, peppery iris. Very, very lovely.

I agree that it's not as heady as Tolu or some of her other fragrances.

It probably gives her a perfume that fits into a space she had that she didn't have a fragrance for.

I'm betting that those who are crazy about Tolu might not like this, but someone who is not crazy for Tolu might be for this.

I like the original OJ and also the OJ for men.

Shortly after I joined POL, I ordered her set of samples. I've been glad to have them to try them.

That would be me!

I wish she'd create a few more fragrances, so she'd have enough for another sample set.
