I usually don't care about the design of a perfume bottle per se, but this one is really ugly. It looks like 2 Slugs getting amorous. It's not pleasing to me eye. http://beauty.hsn.com/cnt/prod/zoom/zoom_v...webp_id=3548231

Ha ha ha ha ha! Yep, great description. Looks like someone got carried away being 'clever' with a double-juiced scent product.

I think I saw that bottle somewhere and it is one by the soap opera star Susan Lucci. There are two scents but I didn't try them.

I noticed it came from HSN and did a search - It's Susan Lucci's "Invitation". It says its Freesia, Lily of the Valley and Jasmine, but doesn't explain the difference between the two juices.

I just re-read the information - its a combination of EDT and EDP -- not two different scents, just different strengths of the same one it appears.
Yes, this is the ugliest bottle I can remember seeing.

Slug is the only thing that comes to mind and slime in the bottle ?
What a serious design mistake !!!

The bottle is so weard that perhaps I would like it, or shall I say so ugly that I perhaps could like. Taste and what you think is beautiful differs. For instance I nearly did'nt by J'adore because I thought the bottle was so stupid. I suppose people don't think that bottle is ugly. I like bottles like the Chanels most I think, but I also think that the Feminité de Bois bottle is beautiful. Sorry to say I can't wear that perfume.

Perfumeaddict, thanks for the info on the scent. It's not something I would pursue anyway. I'm not into celebrity scents and the notes don't seem my type either.

Valnum, dear, bottles are made of glass and afaik, they can't be hurt by negative comments. There's nothing to take personally here. It's okay to like the bottle and it's okay not to like it.

Sorry to all of you who gave extremely negative comments on the bottle, but since i'm more than honest and since i have seen the photo, i have to say something opposed to all of you.
I think exactly the opposite. it's not bad at all, or may i say i personally think the design is quite good?!

Like I said earlier, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you like it, then great. I don't and I am being honest.

I agree it doesn't look user-friendly and the design doesn't appeal to me at all. I particularly dislike tall, weirdly-sculptured bottles that look like they would tip over easily.

It looks like a sex toy, a French tickler to me. I don't dislike the bottle, but don't love it either. It would be more accurate to say I find it amusing. It wouldn't stop me from buying a bottle if I really liked the scent.

Now that weeble wobble monstrosity of Insolence slays me , and this is painful for me to say as a Guerlain lover , but the resemblance is uncanny.

I thought the video of the leopard slugs mating...was just...amazing. I found the ritual quite beautiful, in it's own way.
I don't know about the bottle, though. I'd have to see it in person to really judge. LOL

Catie and Caribou, I agree. That has to be one of the most astonishing mating displays I've ever seen! Just amazing, and really quite beautiful.
As to the bottle, it certainly does suggest the shape of a slug, but I'm not sure I'd call it ugly. I don't think it's a design that "flows" though, and agree with Cazaubon that it looks tippy.
What's kinda funny is that Susan Lucci was once in a movie called with the word "invitation" in it. And a mighty fine movie it was, according to this clip:
"Invitation to Hell":-)

For those of you who enjoyed the video, I have to tell you we looked it up on You Tube AFTER HAVING WITNESSED THE EXACT SAME THING IN OUR OWN BACKYARD! It happened it Portland Or right before we left - Anastasia came in one evening and said "Mom, there is something really weird going on out here." I watched the entire thing and couldn't believe what I was seeing. It's quite something to have a David Attenborough-worthy event happening right on one's own humble garbage cans! And you are right, it was beautiful, though quite bizarre.
When I saw that bottle I couldn't help but think of it! ; D

From the mouth of babes:
I showed the picture of the bottle to my eleven-year old daughter with no introduction and asked her what it made her think of.
"Slugs," she said, with absolutely no hesitation.

"I noticed it came from HSN and did a search - It's Susan Lucci's "Invitation"."
I ordered this fragrance a number of years ago from HSN without smelling it beforehand. It was way too strong for my taste. The actual fragrance might have been fine aside from it being way too potent. The body lotion might have been OK, but it needed to be toned down considerably before I would have kept such a product. I really am not offended by the bottle and never thought of it as looking like slugs. That is too funny! However, the bottle would not be so much an issue if the scent had been wonderful upon first sniff.
