I'm good at:
making soup
amusing children
research and paleography
needlepoint
writing and teaching
and remembering Buffy the Vampire Slayer trivia and dialogue. If I could remember important names and dates in medieval history with the same kind of steel-trap recall that I have for Buffy episodes, I'd be bound for glory. Alack.

I'm impressed.
I can snap my fingers against my cheek in such a way that it sounds exactly like a drop of water falling into the sink. This is completely useless, but I'm good at it.

Good memory. That really bothers my husband that I have a good memory especially when we argue. He'll say to me that I remember every sordid details, no matter how minute or grand it would be and to what the person said, VERBATIM.
Electronic gadgets - I bought a smart phone (palm treo) and I set everything up. No technician assistance. It took me 2 days.

It bothers me just to
hear this.
Mrs. T seems to have this as well (either that or a ton of chutzpah). There are only two defenses to this. One is a poor memory and willingness to disavow anything previously said or unsaid, and the other is to tell the truth.

I'm an accomplished singer and could have had a professional career if I didn't also want a husband.
I'm good at directing choirs of all ages and ability levels, although I seem to work best with the gifted.
I can get along with absolutely anybody. Butcher, baker, candlestick maker, truck driver, Stephen Hawking and everyone in between. Working in a grocery store for several years taught me this skill.
I am the first in any room to get a joke. I always seem to laugh a nanosecond before the rest of the room. Plus, I find strange things funny.

-Spreadsheets (boring, but true)
-Organizing my collections in a way where I know where everything is (makeup, shoes, perfume, bath and body products, jewelry, scarves)
-Giving people the benefit of a doubt
-Being patient with difficult people (I don't know if I want this skill, as people tend to tax it when they know it's there, but I have it nonetheless)
-Empowering people ("let me help you... help yourself, do it yourself, learn it..etc.")
-Solving problems
-Boring, long and tedious paperwork
-Reading people, or their moods, if I've met them in person
-Getting cats to like me
-Making funny faces and voices to entertain my husband and children of all ages
-Not getting sick at very gross things/smells/situations

Well, there was this pig. In the front yard of a house near here. A pet pig, apparently. The owners were in the front yard as well, and a couple of dogs. Can't remember what they were doing. I said hello to the pig. The pig took one look at me, and made a beeline in my direction. I scratched her, and ... well, it was total adoration. The owners said they'd never seen her behave that way before. She didn't want me to go.
I am, apparently, the Pig Whisperer.

I have these traits, too. Also:
-I write helpful marginal comments.
-I'm good at asking the first question that makes it easier for other people to talk in class.
-Even though I hate conflict, I'm a pretty good mediator when running and hiding isn't an option.
-I don't understand cats well but am good with dogs and llamas.
-I rarely get bored; I'm good at finding some snippet of interest in most situations, even if it's just a list of things I want to investigate further later or a line I want to use in a poem.

Twitch, you pig whisperer, you, (that's so funny!), DH does that drop of water thing, too, drives me crazy only 'cause I can't figure out how to do it!
I'm good at:
-Keeping my cool
-Finding something to like in most people
-Listening
-Being a sort of catalyst. I don't always have the idea, but I'm good at brainstorming or provoking the idea, if that makes any sense.
-Baking
-Analytical and strategic thinking
-Multi-tasking (which can be a blessing and a curse!)
-Soothing difficult situations
