My dry skin doesn't hold scent well, so I'm always thrilled when I find ones that stick around a while.
Which of your fragrances last well? Not necessarily high sillage, but are still noticeable at least to you many hours after you apply them? I can get some perfumes to last a very long time when I spritz my clothing, but there are a few that last even on my skin.
For me, the top contenders would be:
-- Ormonde Woman by Jayne Ormonde: This one has incredible lasting power, especially for an EDP. I can put this on in the morning and still smell it when I go to bed at night, which is practically unheard of for me. If I layer it with the bath oil, I'll still smell it the next day! I love its black hemlockiness this time of year, reminds me of a winter forest.
-- Winter Delice by Guerlain: Very good lasting power. Unusual for the Aqua Allegorina line.
-- VooDoo Love by The Perfume Shop: I have the oil, and it's a powerhouse. A few drops is literally all that's required, and it goes on and on and on. Smells a lot like the old frankincense oil I had back in my college days. Very rich.
-- Anne Pliska by Anne Pliska: After a while, I can no longer smell this one, so I assume it's gone. Wrong. I get more compliments on this fragrance than any other, and they're nearly always well after I can no longer detect it. Orange ambery gorgeousness.
How about you?

My skin has become bone dry over the years...and very few scents stick around for long, but the ones which do...really do. LOL
A few which come to mind:

Must de Cartier
Habanita
Femme de Rochas
Boudoir
Stephanie
Yvette
Hypnotic Poison
BBWs Sandalwood Rose body essence
Wrappings
Aromatic Elixir
Black Cashmere

I have dry skin as well, and I have the same problem as you. Royal Secret II sticks around a looooong time. Opium also seems unkillable. :-)

Keiko Mecheri LOUKHOUM is the scent that time-- and soap-- won't purge. (-: That's OK, tho', since I adore it.
BANDIT EDT (the patchouly/leather verion) also has the staying power from he!! Your clothes will reek of it well into the next day. Nice if you like this one, as i do.
SL CHENE has marvelous staying power, and indeed, its final signature is just as glorious as the initial spritz.
Revlon JONTUE has a magnificent drydown that lasts about a day...

Angel and Winter Delice for me, one spritz and they hang around, even after a shower the next day.

Second the BdD-- Le Baiser du Dragon Parfum does not wash off, does not wash out, and pretty much doesn't dry down. It just IS, but fortunataly it's a pleasant presence most of the time. I just can't spray it on my chest. If I do, I can taste it for hours.
The new 24 Faubourg lingers on me quite faithfully all day, though I could see it being even stronger with something like oakmoss in it.

D&G Feminine lasts a long time, ditto Shalimar and Opium.
If you can find someone who makes high-quality dupes in oil form, that can be a longer-lasting alternative to the real thing - and by diluting with alcohol you can make it as strong as you like, or add to unscented lotion or shower gel. Gold Star in NYC is VERY good - their dupes are fantastic, and they have soaps and all kinds of bottles and insence and other stuff too. And it's cheep! $4 or $5 an ounce for most of the perfume oils, and they have single note oils too (I think many if not all of theirs are synthetic, so if you're looking for the real thang then I would look elsewhere) - and they have an extensive list of fragrances to choose from.
I heart Gold Star! if they only knew how many times I have recommended their store! if you ever have a chance to visit NYC, I heartily recommend a visit - it's a tiny store but the staff is very friendly.
DSH also has very good dupes in oil form but they are more pricey - she's also got a lot of recreations of discontinued scents.

I have exactly the same problem, but Sicily, Estee, and Aromatics Elixir do well on me. With the Sicily, I think the shower gel and lotion help. Caleche is good, too, especially with the body cream. I'm aware that part of my problem in this area is that I prefer florals and floral aldehydes, along with a few chypres. These categories contain notes that are simply not as deep and persistent as those in Black Cashmere or Youth Dew.

Hanae Mori EDP (24 hours+)

Alpona, beyond a doubt -- through the next day, through a shower, and I have dry skin, too. This is true of other Carons, also -- they make a grand entrance, and have a lot of staying power.

I am trying a sample from Susanlyall - L'air de Rien by Miller Harris and I have to say its got good staying power. I too have the white dry skin that soaks up scent and makes it go Poof!
I guess that is why I am such a Guerlain fan - they have good staying power for me.

There's quite a few with staying power from my collection:
Aromatics Elixir - refreshing, woody, arid fragrance
Artemisia - soft floral
Cerutti Image - refined green
Diesel Green - sharp oriental woody
Destiny - white floral
Diva - woody mossy chypre. The body lotion is potent.
Dolce & Gabbana original - red cap - THIS one is a bomb and last 2 days if I'll allow it
Hot Couture - sharp oriental woody
L'heure Bleue edp - Powdery floral ambery semi oriental - doesn't come off until showered off
Miss Dior - Woody, Mossy chypre (I'll get compliments in this one all day)
Paloma Picasso - Spicy fresh floral chypre
Patou Forever - Woodsy fruity floral
Woodhue (Tinder Box by Irma Shorell) sweet spicy scent
White Linen - crisp floral - the body lotion alone lasts all day.
Youth Dew - refined oriental
I think Jeffrey's superfumes last a good while, too.

I'm with Fleurry - Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille lasts and lasts and in my opinion, gets better with the hours. Also, Shalimar in the parfum strength is very tenacious and beautiful. It will usually last a good 24 hours on me. Also very long-lasting: PotL Luctor et Emergo. Nonstop cherry amber.

Thanks, Ellen, I'll check them out. I always try to go for oils when I can, because they do have much better staying power on me. Which ones have you tried?

I tried Cuir de Russe perfume for the first time last week. I applied it to my wrist, and even though I bathed, I didn't scrub my wrist at that spot apparantly, because 48 hours later, I could still smell it and it was still beautiful.

Revlon SAND & SABLE just goes on forever.
BTW, this strikes me as a funny name.... I suppose it means that this is a fragrance one can wear in summer (the beach) or winter (in furs).
But what the namers didn't apparently consider is that the word <<sable>>, in French, means..... sand.
So the name (to my ears) is "Sand and sand".

I have not put Pink Sugar on for bed in a while because DH dislikes it, but I can still smell it on my comforter. It is one of those that smells wonderful on fabric or in the air, as it did when my little boy got into it and sprayed it. He briefly tried to lie about it, but it was unmistakeable!

How funny. I just went to their website (it looks like they sell exactly the same stuff as The Perfume Shop in New Orleans, BTW), and they have a dupe they call "Channel #5." Love it.
Wonder if it's any good? Did you ever sniff it? I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it smells like the real thing.

I, too, have painfully fair and very dry skin that seems to obliterate many perfumes. But, some of them are indestructable -- and thankfully so! Oils, in particular, are fabulous for my skin and for the scent's staying power, so I always seek them out, when possible. I love finding vintage bath oils for stuff like Mitsouko (yes! they made bath oil!) and Arpege, etc. Oil rocks.
Aside from the oil consideration, these scents last a long time on me:
Molinard Habanita parfum
Guerlain Cuir Beluga
Guerlain Bois d'Armenie
Guerlain Mitsouko
Must de Cartier
Dior Addict
Corday Toujours Moi
Weil SdV Zibeline
Chanel Cuir de Russie parfum
Gucci EdP (brown)
Etro Shaal Nur
These spring to mind. Most (not all) are sweeter scents. Vanilla and tonka bean seem to last all day on me. Most chypres that I love (except Mitsouko) don't last at all. Among my favorite scents are Coty Chypre and Vivienne Westwood Libertine, both of which need near-constant reapplication, which is a total drag.

I don't have the ability to PM, nor email you - so I am trying to get this request to you in this format....ok?
I know you plan to respond to Twitchly, but could I convince you to also post here for the rest of us to benefit from your experience with the fragrance oils? Which ones you especially likel, which ones are the most "true" scents, which to avoid (if any) etc. THANKS so much!
I LOVE fragrances, and have some that last well on my skin - but I would dearly love to find ways to make others of my favorites more long-lasting.

I don't like perfumes that stay around too long on me, such as Tresor and Oscar de la Renta. Staying power is not a trait I view favourably. There are exceptions though. One of the perfumes with the longest staying power that I still love at the end of the 24 hours is dsh Prana with its oudh base.
