The TV ads for the AeroGarden gadget have been tempting me. I love fresh herbs and was envisioning the joys of having plenty of freshly snipped dill, chives, mint, parsley and basil available all the time!

After thinking I could sacrifice a whole section of my tiny amount of counterspace, I went online to check what the prices are for this gardening gadget. Thank goodness for Amazon customer reviews. Now I don't want the Aerogarden! ~LOL~

Is there anything you've been craving which you found out you don't really need?

I know it's not at all the same, but you might go for countertop sprouting. All sorts of seeds and legumes can be sprouted and included in salads, sprouted breads, etc. No "blazing light of a thousand suns" bulbs required.

Wow, Mort, I considered that little garden thingy for myself, but the price? Holy cow! It pays to read reviews....

This quote from the reviews gave me the bast laugh of the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The light is INSANELY BRIGHT - we put it on the bartop and it was like having the Arc of the freaking Covenant in the kitchen. It's good for eliminating Nazis from your cooking area as a bonus, I guess."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

I love Amazon reviews. I also wonder how many glowing reviews are written by shills.

I've seen those commercials and thought about buying one myself. Oh, well.

As for me, I got myself a Chia herb garden. :) Will play with it on Christmas Day and see how I like it. :)

If one's kitchen window has an unshaded southern exposure, you can grow herbs. My kitchen window face east and is shaded. I'll just have to wait until spring to plant some on the patio where i have a little sun. Thank goodness if we get desperate so many groceries have fresh herbs in the produce department.

Well, there's still that magic swivel head sweeper to consider. ~wink~ And you get TWO! for 2 payments of $19.99!

That's a great one!

My all-time favorite Amazon review is this pithy summary of the movie "Chocolat":

"I liked this movie better when it was called 'Footloose.' It wasn't nearly as pretentious."
