So I started my new full time job and I think I am going to like it.
It's a small business and just the owner and a few employees.
Yesterday the owner handed me some papers to read through and sign and one was a list of expectations for each employee to fulfill.
In the list were items about dress code and the like.
It also mentioned NO PERFUME IS TO BE WORN. When I read that I felt weak in the knees!
Before I signed it I asked the boss if that's a hard and fast rule and told him I collect perfume.
I also told him I make it a point to wear perfume tastefully and not bathe in it.
He said, "Oh never mind that...in fact I was going to tell you that your perfume is very very nice. What is it called?"
I was wearing.................
Cinnabar!
What a relief! I was afraid I was going to be come an unscented person for 40 hours of my week!

Dodged a bullet on that one, Cally! Best of luck in the new job. To be sure, it might be worth trying to get the boss to cross that line out and initial the correction!

That is good news that it's OK to wear scent on your new job. Of course even if it was a fast and hard rule against it, we'd school you in all the stealth techniques (evil laughter).
No one stops a perfumista from wearing 'fumes!

That's good news, but since he doesn't seem to mind some scent, I'd want that rule stricken from the regulations. I wouldn't want my employer to have any reason (if the occasion arose) to discipline or terminate me.

Extremely good point.

If he didn't mind Cinnabar, then just about anything goes, because I think of that as being a strong one.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes.
I think Cinnabar sort of has a way of charming most males!
I really only sprayed about three (not up close) mists for that whole day.
I think I will be very diligent and not over-do anything I wear.
He said that rule really was to protect against people who marinate (not his exact words) in their perfume or cologne.
I'll let you know how it goes!

Good luck to you!
I would say just be careful. If even one person notices you're wearing perfume and it bothers her, wash it off. You don't want her going to the boss to have him enforce that rule. As long as it is still in writing, they can fire someone for wearing perfume if someone complains.
