Today on the morning news, a Doctor said that you need to visit this link BEFORE you take any of the new drugs out there.

http://worstdrugs.org/

He also added that you should not consider taking new drugs on the market until after SEVEN years. By then, the verdict is pretty much in....safety, do they really work, side effects, etc., so you might want to check out the site.

I don't think your link is right, Ginny.

I think you may have meant www.worstpills.org

But be aware most of the content of the site is available by paid subscription only.

Hmmmmm, I wrote it down, the doctor said worse or worst drugs.org. LOL.....maybe he meant worstpills.org and was confused cuz he was sampling? LOL Sorry, I couldn't help it. Its his site and he gave the wrong addy.

There is a paperback book with a similar title that has been out for years (Pills That Don't Work?). They keep updating it. My mother takes it with her every time she sees the doctor because most docs don't have the time to keep up with the latest info. Which is why we, as consumers, must.

I took too long to edit my message cuz I had to go to a meeting. Here it is again with links this time.

The Dr that was talking about all this is Dr. Wolfe

He belongs to the Public Citizens Health Research Group I think I saw a link to that in the site you posted Rubes.

How interesting-- I knew there was something wrong with Serevent. I really only had exercise induced asthma so I only occasionally used my rescue inhaler for gym and haven't used anything in years, but I remember Serevent made me choke.

I didn't read the article, but I just wanted to pop in to say that Serevent is the drug that allows me to live a normal life. I suffered with asthma for my entire life, and when that came out, it was the magic bullet. Overnight, I became able to exercise and be out in the cold, when I had not been able to do those two incredibly basic things since the age of 12. If they ever take it off the market, I will lead a one-woman protest the likes of which the world has never seen.

The problem is pharmaceutical companies creating copycat drugs and charging more for them when earlier versions are just as good or even better, because they have a track record.
