I stumbled on this recently after not having seen it for a long time. This was the first time I gave it any attention and I actually bought it unsniffed! I think it is a chypre of sorts but there are a lot of fruity citrus notes. Does anyone here own it? What do you think of it? It's been on my wrist for a couple of hours now, I am starting to really like it.

bergamot, mandarin galbanum lemon peach fresh green
jasmin tuberose rose.lov orris carnation ylang floral

I do not think it had much of a chance in America as it was not promoted well
nor was Lapidus a household name

Thank you! I've couldn't find it in any of my guides other than Michael Edwards and it just puts it in a fresh floral chypre catagory. I like it. DH says it smells like cooking spices, yawning. Well, we've already established that most guys don't appreciate chypres but they make me feel good.

I would agree with this wholeheartedly, sillage. I think it was big in France. The ad for this is one of the most memorable ones I remember but the Lapidus fragrances had a very short life on the market here in Montreal.
Here is a pic of the artwork used in the Création ad. I think it's stunning!

[Lapidus fragraces still have their nich but not here in the Western Hemisphere. I feel the same with Lapidus Homme a wonderful floral chypre for men with amazing sillage.
All Lapidus fragrances are now under Elizabeth Arden Fragrance division.
Creation always reminded of a softer Giorgio.

Don't know the men's Lapidus scents yet. Will have to seek them out over here at the outlet mall. They have his stuff I believe.

One of my favourites -first got into it in 1985 when I was a teenager - a lot of oakmoss, quite clean , somewhat powdery . In my opinion very underrated well worth a try.
