Today is my grandson's 4th birthday. I'll be wearing Borneo 1834 in honor of him (I have a decant of it near my computer, and he often reaches for it and enjoys sniffing it!)

Le Parfum de Therese. I can really tell that the perfumer is the same as for Diorama. It is only recently that I mistook one for the other and realized the similarity.

Testing out Dior Addict.
Like the grassy, green vanille combo top notes, but now it's become a bit fumey and too 'warm' ambery.

I wanted to smell something today even though I'm home sick again and can't smell much, so I reached for something I haven't worn in a while--Montale Powder Flowers. If I hold my wrist right under my nose, I can smell it. *sigh*

Hermès Calèche.
Top note : Aldehydes, Bergamot, Lemon, Neroli
Middle note : Rose, Jasmine, Lily of the valley, Orris
Base note : Oakmoss, Cedarwood, Sandal, Vetiver
It's possible to wear it now. A bit soapy but I think I can smell some flowers too. I'm happy for that. And here is more happiness. My first Caron arrived today. So now, after work, I'm wearing Caron Parfum Sacré. It feels sweeter than I remember from the sample. But I wore Acqua di Parma Colonia yesterday and Calèche today so I think it's the contrast to those scents that make me feel it's sweeter.

Happy birthday to your grandson, Nubka, we share the same day! And Liz Taylor too. :o)
I'm wearing my new obsession Montale Ginger Musk. I can't remember a fragrance grabbing me like this one has. I wear it more than anything right now. And so different for me from my usual ambers. I'm in love.

i´m wearing my sample of chanel cristalle edP today - makes me happy :)
moreover i´m sampling chanel n° 5 & coco extrait - i adore the drydown of both, but the beginning of n° 5 is a bit over the top sparkling for me.
i so wish i´d get a hold on a bottle of n° 5 eau premiere - mission impossible, i know.

Started out with a tiny dab of vintage Replique which quickly went very, very awful on me so I scrubbed that off and started again with some DKNY Delicious Night, which I like, probably enough to buy a full bottle someday. Happy Wednesday!

It started out Boudoir, the pure parfum for once and much, much nicer than I'd remembered, and is now Bond no9 Silver Factory because things went flying off a counter. Not the bottle, the sample.

Wow Fiveoaks, JAR Jardenia? When I sniffed that a few years ago at the JAR boutique in Paris, it turned my stomach - I was with a friend and I looked at her with a wild-eyed expression and politely said, "Oh my!" as the salesperson was right there watching my reaction. Privately I told her it smelled like rotting plant matter. It was the only JAR that I really didn't like. Of course it didn't help that I was extremely jet-lagged and not feeling my best, but I don't know if I would have the courage to smell it again.

Lancome Magie Noire. Was helping a library patron today and he asked me if I had been consuming coffee because he smelled it on me. Strange. I'm not a coffee drinker, nor do I detect any 'coffee-ness' in Magie Noire. Funny what comments you hear sometimes. I also was told by a patron today that I always have reminded him of Sara Evans because of my long dark hair and red lips. NOW that was nice!

Caz, pretty much the general reaction I remember. When we were trying the Jars at Bergdorf Goodman a couple of years ago the general concensus was
Jardenia had a sort of mushroom earthy smell that was very funky. Everyone kind of looked at each other and went
eeeuuuuwww (or at best looked very doubtful). I did not wear this for quite a while, then today when I decided to try some, lo and behold that smell was gone and it was all flowers with a honeyed note.
