We have new fur-babies! :-)
Two year old Bengal females, a brown marble (Halo) and a silver spotted (Jasmine.) We're thinking about renaming them, DH wants to rename them Tai and Chi!!!!!!!
Anyway, they are lovely little things. They're still pretty freaked at having to leave their last home (the owner was moving and couldn't take them with her), but they do play with us, so we're hoping they'll eventually come around (fingers crossed!) Halo's a bit bolder, but Jasmine still likes to hide behind the couch.
Here are a couple pics. Although their eyes look blue in the pictures, they're really a beautiful green.
Jasmine looks exactly like her picture; Halo is prettier than her picture, her marbling shows up better when you see her from the side, she looks a bit like an ocelot.

Oh! Enjoy them. They bring so much joy to life!
I was at someone's house today that had 4 cats. One of them was 20 years old!!! I didn't know they lived that long.

Such gorgeous kitties! That's a pretty active breed, isn't it? Almost like having kittens in the house?

I get the big, fluffy, low to the ground kind. Two BENGALS!?! Oh Lord! You'll have to kitty-proof the house.
But they look worth every second of whatever mischief they might cause! Booful kittehs!

You are kind to take in older cats. Most people want kittens.
They are GORGEOUS. Dh actually drooled and wants them!!! Too bad we are at 5 already.
Enjoy your new additions!

Enjoy your new additions to your family. I really enjoy watching Richard Norton's videos on youtube about his Ridanos cats. They are such an intelligent breed.

FTR, I was all set to get the Norwegian Forest Cat at the pound (and I still might!) - she's very laidbac and fluffy- and had frankly picked out a few more pound kitties, but DH really loved these and since I want them to be his pets, too, here they are.
They are an active breed and do amazing acrobatic leaps to get the "bird" on the fishing pole string. They also love the laser light and will chase it right up their "tree." We have two "trees," one upstairs and one down. DH wants to build a shelf or two so they can climb their tree, go up the shelves and sit in the half moon window over the fireplace!!!
So far the foil in the kitchen is keeping them from jumping on the counters. They both tried it once, didn't like the foil and jumped right back down.
I'd always heard that some Bengals really like water so this morning I turned the faucet on when I was in the bathroom and Jasmine (who is the much more shy of the two) came running. She drank from the faucet and let me pet her. After she drank her fill, she stuck her HEAD right under the water, like a mini-kitty-shower! I think I have to get her one of those water fountains, she'll like that better than drinking from a bowl.
Can you say spoiled kitties????
Good grief, wait til Ihave grandchildren, LOL!!!

they're lovely. my friend in d.c. has a bengal, and she says she's never been more in love with a cat.
i bought my siamese brothers when they were three, and it took some time and some effort to win their trust, but we bonded within weeks. they started out by hiding behind the toilets. they quickly moved to sleeping between my legs under and on top of the sheets/blankets.
they just need to know that they can relax, and that there are no other big changes to be wary of. you'll be fine. give them a smooch for me.

One more update.
DH doesn't have to build the climbing shelves he was planning in the living room.
Jazzy, the little one, jumps from the middle of her tree to the fireplace mantel and from the fireplace mantel up to the half moon window above the fireplace. She likes to sit up high and she looks pretty cute up there!
