Is it my imagination or airline/airport employees are getting increasingly abusive toward passengers?

What's going on with these airlines??
There was one story in which a woman was thrown off the plane because her
outfit was too skimpy (she works at hooters).
Another one in which two girls were banned by
Southwest Airlines because they were too pretty, so they claimed.

I knew that! I've seen you post earlier than this thread. Glad to see your presence here again. Hope all is well!
Since she obviously is not the first woman (or man) to board a plane with the rings, I'd like to know why she was the one picked on.

Knitting needles are okay but nippy rings are a definite danger. Give me a break already.

Well, things were going well until I grabbed both of them through the material of my brassiere and blouse and yelled,
"Stand back - these rings are lethal and I'm not afraid to use them!"
Those airport security people have no sense of humor.

Gracious.
“The last time that I checked a nipple was not a dangerous weapon.”

Last time I flew, I got pulled for a pat-down. The female TSA inspector recited some spiel about this being a 'random selection', and I couldn't help but think, like hell it's random. I don't think it's possible to do a completely random selection when you can see the passengers or even see their names before they're selected.
There was another TSA case recently in which an inspector forced a 14-yr-old to unwrap his spare feeding tube from its sterile packaging, rendering it unusable. The packaging was transparent.
These folks are not given enough training or enough leeway to use their common sense. They're probably told to fight their common sense, now that I think of it.

These are the same folks who told us to put everything in transparent ziploc bags.

I'm seriously considering never flying again. If I can't drive there, maybe it isn't worth it. As Bugs Bunny put it "What a maroon."

As far as I'm concerned, this is a non-story. I'm sure idiocies like this happen in airports by the thousands every day. The only reason it made the news is because we're in a breast-fetish culture and it has to do with nipples. Therefore, news.
