Info from web:
"According to the current issue of Allure, when Luca Turin & Tania Sanchez were married at New York City Hall in November 2007, the bride wore Hermes Osmanthe Yunnan and the groom wore L'Air du Desert Marocain by Tauer Perfumes."

I remember wearing "Bal a Versailles" because I was getting married in a "castle", ie Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. It was probably one of the last time I wore it, it is too oriental for me. I am more into chypres & florals.

I wore Sublime by Jean Patou.

I eloped, twenty-five-years-ago, come April 15th...and I wore Ninja, the designer imposter for Opium.
We were as poor as church-mice and got married in JP's office in Witchita Falls, Texas. On "tax day".
Ahhhhh...the romance of it all...
LOL

First time was L'Air du Temps, second time CK Eternity.
heather
Guerlain Shalimar parfum, both on my wrists and in a diamond scent locket attached to the pearl necklace I was wearing.

I think I wore Stella Rose Absolu - the only fragrance I owned back then. We told everyone aside from a couple of close confidents that we were off on holiday to New York and then tied the knot at City Hall. It had snowed and I ended up wearing wellington boots with my dress.

If we were going to do it again I think I would wear The Unicorn Spell by LesNez.

I am not actually "married" but after 13 years of being together with my ball and chain, Phil. It sure feels as if we are.

I would pick "Musc Koublai Khan Serge Lutens" to wear if we were ever to. I want to wear something primal here.... bring out the animal in me.. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Fleurry
I wore Chloe. It was a nice fragrance back then.
SandraL
Tatiana. Well, it was 31 years ago. Old Spice for the DH.

I wore Parure and my husband still loves it, after 26 years.

Rufus, if you come to Canada you can get married here, no problem.

Heather, I also wore Shalimar at my wedding many a year ago. I've been divorced for a long time but that was my signature scent when I tied the knot.

I wore Opium on the hottest day in 1991. (The church had no AC, either.)

I wore Opium because I thought it was sexy. (I still think it's a very sexy perfume.) But, if I had it to do over again, I'd

1. Still marry the same guy :-)

2. Make sure that the church has AC

3. Wear 24 Faubourg or Chanel No. 22

Catie, I remember wearing and loving Ninja, too. I got some at Walgreens a couple of years ago for nostalgia.

I am embarassed to say I don't remember! I probably didn't wear anything, though, because Mr. 56 has always been bothered by perfumes.
Clancurrey
Oh I wore the long discontinued original version Jean Patou "Ma Liberte"---kinda funny since it means "my freedom".
Still married but alas original Ma Liberte nowhere to be found.

I wore Estee Lauder's Pleasures and hubby wore CK Escape.
Spadefoot
Farnesiana

I wore Belle De Rauch by De Rauch. Sadly this has been discontinued but I still have a small bottle that I wear.

Nothing wrong with Joy as a choice! People who smell the cheap chemical travesty marketed under the name of Joy today will never understand the glory of Joy back when it was billed as the most expensive scent in the world.

For not knowing you made a pretty good choice.

Isabella: Not the most expensive; the costliest!

If I married I would wear something that regained my lost innocence. And orange blossom just wouldn't cut it. Maybe Après L'Ondeé.

On the last two weddings I went to the brides wore Acqua di Parma and Bulgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert.
chanel22
I wore Chanel #19 in extrait. It was very hot. I couldn't tell you if the church had air conditioning or not. I said my lines and his... I was so nervous it's a wonder I didn't pass out.

Joy, and I splurged on a bottle of Bain du Joy to take on honeymoon with us.
Novis2007
It was so long ago and I don't remember. I wasn't into fragrance then so proparbly I wore no fragrance at all. If I wore anything it could have been L'Air du Temps wich I think I have owned once. Yes I'm not sure of that. lol. It also could have been an Avon fragrance, but I don't remeber the name.

If my husband today and I was married (Yes we are not but I call him husband becaus he is like that for me) I would have worn no fragrance. I didn't when we met.

If I was married today I would wear Parfum Sacré.
susanlyall
Cartier Panthere Parfum....it was in 1989, big shoulders, big diamonds, big fragrances!!

You know, its so much easier than saying "significant other" or some such thing. I think I will start calling mine a husband too!

At my original wedding (I've been widowed a long time) I wore an off-the-shoulder dress and White Shoulders. He wore Royal Copenhagen, as he did every day.

If I'd had a wedding with the current "husband" I would have worn Eden, since he likes it on me.

Kenzo Parfum d'été

I wore White Shoulders because that is what I wore almost exclusively when we started dating, and it was DH's favorite fragrance at the time. He still likes White Shoulders a lot on me and says it's "me", but I think his favorite now is Bellodgia, so that's probably what I'd pick now.

I seem to remember wearing Diorissimo - but it was almost 25 years ago!!
Fulltiltredhead
I wore Diorissimo the first time, but I can't remember what the second time.
Twitchly
I'm pretty sure I wore Laura Ashley No. 1. Might've been No. 2.
minette
i wore No. 5. not sure what i'd wear if i were to marry now. probably another floral.

3. Wear 24 Faubourg or Chanel No. 22

Chanel No. 22 was what I wore in Feb '00 when I married.

The marriage did not last but fortunately I had worn No. 22 for a while before that... so my love affair with the fragrance was not damaged!

And in 1971, Love's Lemon.

In 1975, I don't think I wore a thing (living in Yosemite at the time).

In 1988, Ysatis.

Funny that some of us would remember this sort of thing. For me, it was 23 years ago. Yikes! Anyway, I do believe I was wearing Anais Anais on my wedding day.

Deep Woods Off; we were married under a HUGE oak with ticks.
Lady jicky
I think it was either Parure or Infini. Thats what I wore back in the 70's.

Did you hear that Guerlain????? PARURE! Bring it back.
Laemco
Luca Turin wore L'Air du Desert Marocain!!! Now there's a man after my own heart.

I wore Pupa Tropical Orange which is an orange blossom floral. Beautiful but I must have reapplied it a dozen times during the day cause it does not last.

A very interesting thread; I've enjoyed reading it tonight. No fragrance report from me as I have never married. (All I ever wanted is a man smarter than I...and all who were, were too smart to marry me.)

Sounds similar to our wedding, Isabella - the hottest day of 1986 (Aug). The church had poor AC and the reception hall's was broken (or possibly overwhelmed). Nothing like 45 pounds of satin or a nice wool tux to start the perspiration flowing... I believe I wore Abercrombie's long discontinued Woods...not that it mattered much...

If I had it to do over again, I'd:

1. Still marry the same gal. CHECK.

2. Make sure the church and reception hall have AC. CHECK.

3. Let the wife wear 24 Faubourg or Chanel No. 22 (what marvelous choices!). Me? I'd probably stick with Jicky extrait. It works well for me in hot weather.

It was 15 years ago but I think I'm pretty well on the mark when I say it was.........Cotys Vanilla Fields, it is still hubbys favourite on me to this day.
I don't currently own any but hubby does ask from time to time when am I going to get some?

If I was to do it all over again I think I'd opt for Apres L'Ondee.

It's that vanilla magic, I tell you. Men do seem to love it.

I married in the south of France in August... needless to say it was desperately hot, I had rivulets of sweat pouring down my decollete and I thought I was going to be sick and/or pass out.

As for my current partner, I sometimes refer to him as my husband too - it's just less complicated in certain situations, and for all intents and purposes we live as husband and wife.
