CONTEST TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

I was chatting outside of church with a parent who is helping out with the Sunday School play. Nice guy, mid 30’s, salt and pepper hair, very much a guys’ guy, very personable. I caught some nice whiffs of some pleasant fragrance in the breeze and said so, after saying, “Don’t take this the wrong way, but….” Surprisingly, he was pleased, and leaned in toward me and began waving his hand at his neck so I could get a better whiff! It’s a scent that I had never smelled in the men’s version before, and bears more than a passing resemblance to the women’s, which I like, but not well enough to buy.

Not new, not niche.

I actually tested Arpege Pour Homme on Armanis' say-so. He was wild about it (and I think Rasputin shared his ardor for it), but it turned to watermelon jolly rancher on me, and I scrubbed it off. It was at Marshall's when I found it.

How I forgot Estee Lauder's scents, or Giorgio for Men (SOTD) is a complete mystery. (!)

Arpege PH is an AWFUL scent!

I wanted to leave the contest open for the various time zones, although the correct answer was guessed quite early. Sharilstuff is the winnah! The answer is Armani Code!

The gentleman in question went to tell me that it's all that he wears, and he uses up a bottle and buys another of the same thing. (We've all been there, haven't we, before this.....um.....preoccupation took over, huh?) It smelled very nice on him. I was surprised at the resemblance to the women's version--they share what Luca and Tania describe as a milky-woody accord--I think it's an apt description.
