I am heading off to a pirate themed costume party in a couple of hours, and have my outfit almost complete apart from my scent! I am not sure what the fashion is for modern pirate fragrances

Here's the entire list of what I have to choose from:
Agent Provocateur
Annick Goutal Passion
Aquolina Pink Sugar
Balenciaga Le Dix
Balenciaga Rumba
Brosseau Ombre Rose
Burberry
Burberry Brit Red
Cacharel Eau d'Eden
Calvin Klein Contradiction
Caron Nuit de Noel parfum
Caron Pour Une Femme
Cartier Le Baiser du Dragon
Chanel Cristalle
Chanel Coco
Chanel #5
Chanel Allure
Chanel Allure Sensuelle
Christian Dior Addict
Christian Dior Dolce Vita
Clarins Eau Dynamisante
Elizabeth Arden Red Door
Evyan White Shoulders
Fendi Fendi Donna
Ghost Deep Night
Givenchy Organza Indecence
Gucci Envy
Guerlain Champs Elysees
Guerlain l'Instant de Guerlain
Guerlain Shalimar
Hermes 24, Faubourg
Maurice Roucel Musc Ravageur
SJP Covet
Stella
Thierry Mugler Angel
Vivienne Westwood Boudoir
Wanderlust
If I can't decide on anything in particular, I'm going to go with Boudoir as it is my favourite, but I was wondering what popular opinion would be!

I'd have to say any fragrance with a rum note. BPAL has one (Mr. Nancy), Spark is said to have a rum notek, and I know I've seen others. What, no rum? Well then maybe Rum-ba!

From your list, I'd pick Organza Indecence.
A real pirate would probably reek naturally of Musc Koublai Khan

Hmmm yes, Organza Indecence might work well.
Here's the visual - the corset is from my wedding outfit, and the rest was made from old bedsheets from the Salvation Army store! You can see I have something to learn about matching up fabric patterns at the seams

Sorry to burst your bubble, but no pirate outfit is complete without a bottle of Bacardi.

We are leaving for the pub in about an hour - I can sort the Bacardi out then!!

For it it's all about irony. I'd got the Pink Sugar.
Had you let me know, I would have sent you my pirate perfume samplers from Yosh Han. I had Damsel, Swashbuckler, El Capitan, Buxom ... they were great fun.

Sweetie, you look adorable!!!!!! Any scent you wear will just make you more girly and less piratey, so wear what you want, I say.

I was going to suggest you cadge a dollop of bay rum aftershave, but I'm a bit late on this one. Musc Ravageur would probably do the trick. Great costume!

We are big Jimmy Buffet fans. When he comes down here, we usually dress for the occasion.
I actually lucked out and found a lady on eBay that makes costumes, so I had her make me a pirate wench costume & bought a *buff* from Treasure Isle with a skull & crossbones all over it.
I realize I am too late now, but I would have suggested Musc Ravageur, Organza Indecence, or even Ghost Deep Night because of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean....the Black Pearl was a ghost ship.
There is also a perfume out there called Pirates Booty that I wear sometimes but I forget who makes it.
Hove has one, I forget what its called, but I think its Pirates Gold or something like that? But you don't want to make a purchase just for one night unless you will reuse it again & again.
Something ambery, salty, rum-based, (or any booze based fragrance really.....) even the one that has port wine in it....I forget the name..by Marc something???
Do let us know what you finally wore.

HoneyThief, what fun! Now there's a pirate I wouldn't mind meeting up with! Not as scary as most!
It's too late for advice but my afterthought is better get some
Bandit for next time. My tendency would have been to go with a stealth perfume like
Chanel No 5 No one would suspect there was a pirate lurking under that sophisticate's clothing!
Hope you had a wonderful time!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! My laptop battery died before I could even read most of the responses yesterday, but I ended up in Organza Indecence. On me, that one has many similarities with Musc Ravageur, so that would have worked just as well.
Anyway, the party was great fun and I smelled just fine, even after some drunken wench at the end of the table spilled her vodka and Red Bull all over me. The Red Bull has that same sweet medicinal scent that OI has, so they actually went quite well together

I agree with the rum note. Also something with a leather note. Neil Morris makes a great frag called Fetish with a leather note. Good stuff!
