Please tell me what you like or dislike from this line. The bottles are soo pretty, I am resisting the urge to order unsniffed. I am a fan of spicy, powdery, ambery, musk (in small doses), some florals, chypres and sandalwood. I do not like heavy gourmand/fruity scents as a general rule, nor do I like extremely green fragrances. Any Fragonard suggestions for me? Thanks.

I have only one- Billet Doux, it is a little sharp, but very, very lovely, it has got carnation , among its notes, but Billet-Doux is very different from Bellodgia. i don't thing it was discussed here.

Thank you, Smelka, that one sounds lovely. smile.gif Now I'm bumping this to see if anyone else speaks up.

Well, I'm nowhere near being a Fragonard expert....but I own and enjoy many of their scents. I think they are vastly underappreciated. Fragonard seems to produce fragrances of excellent quality for a very reasonable price. In the main, I would say from my limited sampling, their scents are not ground-breaking, revolutionary, or edgy, but they are not simple either. The ones I've tried -- Billet Doux, Grain de Soleil, Miranda -- are some I reach for fairly often, and since I'm in the process of amassing an ever-growing collection of fragrances, that's saying something good.

My favorite, right now, is Miranda.
Tovah, who seems to be my scent twin, wrote this review:
Warm tropical happiness. If you like Sage Onyx you'll probably really enjoy Miranda. Miranda is a coconut-vanilla-amber fragrance that smells delectible, feminine, and very pretty without being babyish or sickeningly sweet. Lasting power is decent, especially for the price. The amber deepens as the scent develops and Miranda becomes sultry and great for evening wear. Overall, extremely enjoyable and well worth it.

Fragonard's offerings are many, varied, and of good quality. Their customer service is excellent. I have purchased directly from the Fragonard site, although I've read that other online retailers sell their scents.

I tried three today - Concerto, Santal, and Vetyver. I found them all nice, light scents, but as someone said, not groundbreaking. I especially liked the Vetyver, and for $39 for 3.4 oz., you really can't go wrong.

Several years ago, I bought a sample box of Fragonard parfum containing ten .07oz bottles on Ebay. I know I have tried them all, but my favorite is Melodie. The others are Lune de Miel, Reve Indien, Dahlia, Fragonard, Arielle, Eau Fantasque, Murmure, Emilie and Etoile du Sud. Reve Indien is a nice and spicy one - great for cold weather.

I agree - they are underrated!

I have Miranda, Eau Fantasque, Lune de Miel, Belle de Nuit and a few other smaller gold metallic bottles of parfum: Baiser D'Aurore, Moment Voile, Etoile du Sud, & Baroque. I believe the parfums are sealed, with the exception of Baroque, which I like alot!

I think most of the parfums I have were discontinued, but not sure.

This line is extremely underrated! Its priced right, the fragrances have great lasting power.....oh WAIT....I just thought of something.....isn't this an ITALIAN line?

If so, that would explain why I like it so much! I wish I owned them ALL! LOL

I've been permitted to try three Fragonard scents recently: LUNE DE MIEL, MELODIE and EMILIE.

I found them to be of highest quality, natural origin, very light in body, sillage and staying power. They are ultra-feminine, make no mistake, in a pretty, winsome, rococo way that one rarely encounters anymore. I think they would be excellent choices for a young girl's first perfume...

My favourites of the line are Baroque, Reve Indien and Miranda.
I also love their Fleur d'Oranger edt. for the summer months.
Good quality ingredients and very French appeal. I was told that a lot of American ladies like
their Dahlia for some reason. Hope this helps.

I love Fragonard. My favorites are Belle de Nuit, a gorgeous floral, and Miranda, a sophisticated coconut treat.

Is it possible to get them on line? I got mine in the perfumery shop, they only had Billet Doux.
éprise de flacons
Only know Grain de Soleil; would like to know more. GdS is a sunny amber scent that reminds me strongly of autumn harvest time. It might run afoul of your preference away from heavy oriental / gourmand scents. Has perhaps the strangest opening I have experienced, a distinct varnish or varnish remover note that must be waited out.

They also have a Soleil fragrance I believe? I have that one also. It was a bit of a mistake as I thought I was getting Grain de Soleil. LOL But the bottle is cute.

Years ago, I've heard that Fragonard blatently sold "their" verions of fragrances like Shalimar and Opium etc. (using the names on the bottles) in their factory store to unknowing tourists visiting Grasse. Since then they've stopped, but according to some many of their fragrances are "inspired by" big name fragrances. Here are some of the comparisons:

Reve Indian to be very like Shalimar, the Etoile du Sud similar but more heady than Eternity, the Murmur reminded me of Opium but softer. Arielle is similar to Red Door. Miranda is said to resemble Casmir.
