The Minnie Driver write-up is bizarre and seems to showcase lack of knowledge of biology to raise eyebrows (Driver / Jaggar canoodle 2001, Driver 2008 pregnant, not divulging name of father). Will not let this ... gestate on my screen any longer ... Do not get the appeal of the Mick.

Now, ladies, you've got some 'splainin' to do... What....What....WHAT is the sexual appeal of Mick Jagger, now or at any point in his career?

Ah, Dave, I agree with you completely, and surely not today. OTOH, maybe he has a lot of charisma up close and personal? or he's rich? or a famous rocker? or maybe even that he's not always around? It doesn't appeal to me to be one of a number, for health reasons if nothing else. He's probably bedded 10,000.

I was wondering what the appeal is, myself. He is not even attractive. As far as being rich, well what good would that do you if you were a one-night stand. Which it seems almost everyone was. I would think that the woman who refused to sleep with him would be the one who would get him. But I wouldn't want him.
What I really don't get is Jerry Hall staying with him for all those years, knowing he is a philanderer.

The appeal of Mick Jagger is the swagger, the musicality, that he is actually thoughtful when you hear him in interviews. But most of all, I love Mick because he commits to his art - he moves in the way that the music tells him to, regardless of the fact that it's really rather bizarre to watch sometimes. I get the sense that he's probably quite charming one on one...I mean, let's not think superficially - he would have to be for women to find him that intriguing. It's not the looks or money - many of these women already have that themselves in spades.
I watched the Martin Scorcese movie of the band's performance in lots of close-ups and I find him mesmerizing.

The appeal of Mick Jagger? That's an easy one, the bad boy image and the $$$$$$.
Women overlook a lot of flaws when a man has a lot of $$$. Personally, I don't see the attraction myself.

My father was asking me the same question just this weekend. I was trying to explain....the androgyny, the jolie-laide (or the male equivalent) of it all, that's the closest I could come. The bottom line is that you can't be talked into an attraction -- it just happens.

And someone should post pictures of Mick at 25 -- there'd be less of a question then, I'd bet on it.

But essentially Sharil's got it right -- you have to see him move, and talk.

Even in his twenties Mick looked like Don Knott's long lost twin , and that was at his very best

, never mind the tousled , dragged through a bush backwards look that rock starts would soon favour.
That being said , sexy does not always = conventional attractiveness , and Mick seems to have some brains and charimsa by the bucket load , not to mention dosh , but I dont think the money explanation is an oversimplification .

he was a cute kid back in the day and he carried himself with this swaggering bad boy self-confidenct sensuality that can make even the most ugly guy irresistably attractive.

Agree, he has that kind of magnetism, but not only....
Imagine what goes through the head of a young woman , when a rock star pays attention to her - "Thousands of girls scream at his the concerts, happy just to touch him , he can have anyone, but he chose me !", that thought is an aphrodisiac in itself.

I read that he's a grad of the London School of Economics. Smart is sexy.
Combine the brain and the education with some street smarts, artistic creativity and originality, a presumed sense of humor, and finally, venerated rock star status (I list this primarily because he has
hands-down amazing stories & dish to spill and this alone is worth pure absolute gold).
On the other hand, the germ-grody-ick factor is really really not sexy.

I find him rather icky/skanky, but I'm sure in person he must have some sort of appeal, or he wouldn't be so "successful" with women.
I suppose it's like my thing for Gerard Depardieu - not quite handsome, but there is something very manly and sexual about him.

lmatchgrl - I agree.
I haven't been attracted to the Mick persona I've seen through photos and film (even though I love the Rolling Stones music). But if he is charming and bright and a rich rock-and-roll star to boot, I'm sure millions of women would find him utterly captivating. And even though at this moment, I don't find him remotely appealing (I'm sure he would say the same thing about me!), I betcha if he flirted with me at party, I'd find him much more appealing. I think a person's charisma is one of those things that is hard to feel until you are actually in the room with "it" (and the person as well).
