I had bought a box of the Trader Joe's chocolate croissants last week and finally cooked some up. You have to put them out before bed as they need to rise and thaw for 9 hours. Then I baked them up in the morning for 20 mins. Wow! They were great, very flaky and buttery and chocolatey - very authentic. I would definitely buy these again!

Didn't I tell you about them, Cazaubon? They are a good as the pain au chocolate DH and I used to get at abakery named Maurices, in New Orleans. T.J.'s sticky buns are better than any similar product, unless one' has an impatient husband who puts them in the oven before they are fully risen. ~LOL~

Yes, thanks for the hot tip! Must try the sticky buns next. My friend says the apple blossoms are quite excellent as well.

I wrote about them on a Trader Joe thread a while back. I've tried both the sticky buns and croissants, both excellent because they are made with real butter and not transfat shortening. But I don't bake during hot weather, so I don't plan to buy any till later in the year. I've also tried their gluten free peanut butter cookie dough. Really good, but too expensive for me and easy enough to make from scratch.
