Hello POL, I miss you guys here.
I need help with ”sweet fragrances”.
I have a question and the first thought that came to my mind was POL readers and that you would be the ones to help.
I have a teacher/instructor who let it slip that she is a “perfume addict” All commercial, she had never heard of “ niche” or all the fragrances that we know about and wear.
I told her she had NEVER seen addicts like the ones WE KNOW! LOL
I am going to turn her on to the sample outlets and POL and so forth. She had never heard of Lucky Scent.
I asked her what she liked and she said “sweet”.
I am going to make up some samples BUT my question is:
What do you think is “sweet”?
The reason I wanted to ask everyone’s opinion is that she is a lovely lady and she REALLY loves fragrance, she has no idea of the big world out there, does she?
This is all that I could think of… am I on the right track here???
Serge Lutens Datura Noir
Serge Lutens Rahat Loukoum
Bond. No 9 Chinatown (she will swoon)
RHM suggested one , Cartier Delice?
Any help would be most appreciated!
My mind is a complete blank…thanks so much!
She will also swoon when I show her POL! LOL
Her name is Connie.

Hi Raphaella!
I think you're on the right track with Delices and Chinatown, I would also add L'Artisan Vanilia and Lutens Un Bois Vanille and take it from there. Rasputin started a "sweet fragrances" thread a while back, I think it's still on the front page.
Love the magazine BTW!!!

Not to mention all Serge Lutens (hiding).

Hi, Raphaella! While she's at the Cartier counter sniffing Délices, she could check out Must de Cartier as well. I always found that one pretty sweet.

Hm, some that haven't been mentioned:
POTL
Givenchy Organza Indecence
Dior Homme (does this count? I find it quite sweet)
Caron Farnesiana
Hermessence Ambre Narguile
FM Le Parfum de Therese (perhaps only marginally sweet)
D&G Light Blue

This is a great start- thank you- this is alot to start with, so I appreciate it-
Once she finds the sites that sell samples, she will go nuts!
StinkerBell, Fab! I SHOULD have known the "sweet" section was on Lucky Scent.
And I will look look for that "sweet thread"...
Love to all

Raphaella - I second GalileosDaughter's recommendation of l'Artisan's Vanilia. It is an absolutely intoxicating sweet vanilla - without being cloying or sugary. Hard to describe, but it is a real comfort scent.

P.S. - Thanks for all your hard work on the magazine. I enjoy it very much!

Profumum Dulcis in Fundo is a wonderfully sweet fragrance, kind of like an orange creamsicle. Rahat Loukhoum is wonderfully sweet almond, and Un Bois Vanille is a sweet woody scent. Of course there is always Pink Sugar! :-)
L by Lolita Lempicka is pretty sweet, as is Vanille Abricot by Comptoir Sud Pacifique.

We have a long thread on sweet scents on the front page

I'm sure you'll find a ton of recommendations there.

I second the Max Mara. I would also suggest Trish McEvoy #9, the original, not Sexy #9. I also find Mimosa Pour Moi to be pretty sweet.

I like sweet fragrances as well as many others, but I think the absolute *sweetest* fragrance I have ever worn is SWEET COURREGES.
Its not *niche*, so if that is what you want specifically, it won't qualify.
It is the epitome of sweet without being cloying.....to me anyway. Someone else might find it cloying. Its a fruity floral, and if she really likes it, it would be fairly easy to get or find I think.

Raphaella, The sweetest perfume I own and don't think has been mentioned is "Apparition" by Ungaro. It's the scent of Double Delight rose, and is very sweet. I have it in the perfume oil...which stays and stays on the skin with just one drop.

Raphaella,
Just wanted to add that when I went to the dollar store Saturday to buy some cheap lotion to use for after I wash dishes, I accidently found Tropical Lily made by Crystal Waters, which oddly enough, smells alot like Sweet Courreges!
So if you would like an idea of what Sweet Courreges smells like, have your friend try that. I sent you a pm offering to send you a sample of it so your friend could try it, but you never got back to me.

My sweet offerings will be from E. Coudray:
Ambre et Vanille - just too sweet for me
Vanille et Coco - also too sweet for me
Jacinthe et Rose - I have recently fallen for again - only like this in cooler months - just the right type of sweet for me
Musc et Freesia - Have just fallen for this all over again too - wistful & sweet (I like it even more than Jacinthe et Rose)
