The type of music I like is Rock sometimes 80's Dance music.Once in a great while I'll try to listen to Hiphop or Rap but I just don't really like it that much I guess.Though sometimes I'll listen to a little bit of Hiphop on my favorite CD from like a movie or something. So sometimes if I like the song I'll actsaully get a kick out of it!

I tend to gravitate towards alternative rock and singer/songwriter stuff. Was alphabetizing my CDs a few days ago and noticing what I seem to have alot of. Aimee Mann, Sheryl Crow, and Bob Dylan.

I'm all over the place. I mentioned in another thread I love Spanish, French or Portuguese music; Cesaria Evora is a fave. I also love Aimee Mann (great songwriter), kd lang (gorgeous voice), Sasha Lazard (great voice and dramatic style), and for live music nothing beats the symphony. We have a really good one here in Milwaukee, believe it or not. :-)

I'm definitely into Fusion- Weather Report, Vital Information, Billy Cobham, Chick Corea Elektric Band sort of stuff. World music too. Then I also enjoy things by groups such as Incubus, Trapt, Propellerheads, Ra, Nickleback, etc. All kinds of things catch my ear from opera to pop- but I have to say I just can't get into country music- even the "crossover" variety.

I know I agree with you.I can't even stand listening to Country it's just to boring and just...I don't know it just doesn't interest me!But yeah,I'm definitly into rock music!(That for sure!)

Classical, jazz, world music, blues, fado, so much more. Not terribly into rock music, though...I'll listen if someone has it on the stereo but I don't own any CDs or seek it out.

The music I love is pretty varied here:
Jazz (Erroll Garner, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Ramsey Lewis, etc...), 80's(the music of my youth), Classic Rock(Stones, Who, Kinks are the ones I like mostly. So Tired of the Beatles it's not funny), Electronica (loving the Hotel Costes series currently), old standards(in other words show tunes, LOL! Berlin, Gershwin, Porter, Rogers & Hart, Harold Arlen, etc....), Big Everything But the Girl fan, Pet Shop Boys fan, Classical music from occasion to occasion....and I'm sure a lot more other stuff too.

I HATE RAP, Country & Western, Thrash metal and most if not all top 40 music of right now.

I like just about everything except counrty & rap. But to narrow it down, I absolutely love samba (Bebel Gilberto, in particular) and lately, a lot of french pop from the 60's...

And...a lot of Claudine Longet this past year (not a strong voice, but she did some great covers, is soooo easy to listen to, and really grows on you after a while...)

Anything on the Verve lable also gets my vote!

But...every now and then, I just have to put on some Led Zeplin! Nothing beats "Misty Mountain Hop !!"
