Full Version: Who Has Experienced Rhinolin?
Perfume of Life > A Civilized Perfume Affair > Talk About Life

Today in the office-supply store I spied this desk pad called "rhinolin" and, it being a size and product I needed, I bought it on the spot. I got 20x36" to allow for keyboard, mouse, papers and my arm (which has gotten an allergic reaction to the varnish on the vintage desk). Then when I got home I looked it up and it seems like rhinolin is some hot item.

Who knows about rhinolin and how good it is? I suppose that's rhinolin as in "rhino," meaning it has a tough hide. Would that be a correct guess? Apparently it's environmentally friendly and all that. So rhinolin lovers, please come out from behind your desks and tell me your desk-pad tales, rhinolin or other. So far it seems to work great and it looks sleek.

(I hope somebody has heard of this stuff.)

I thought "rhino" means 'nose'...

Ellen, yes, it does. And a little further research revealed that 'ceros' means horn. Thus rhinoceros means horn-nosed. I tried to find out how the company arrived at the name rhinolin for this product but could not find anything on that.

Thanks for replying. To tell the truth, I didn't expect many replies on this subject as I doubt desk pads are a burning issue for most people. I guess if you do use a desk pad, it might not matter to most exactly what kind it is. I like desk and writing paraphernalia in general, which would account for my interest. At my former job they outfitted my desk with a beautiful black leather modernistic desk pad but this one is the closest I could come to something similar, within my budget.
