It's a website where people sell homemade items and vintage items. I haven't had a look around the whole site, but there are bargains to be had!

I love etsy. I used to have a shop there, but I closed it in November as my life was just too busy with other stuff. I've bought some beautiful dichroic glass jewellery there, handmade one-of-a-kind pieces, and I always get compliments when I wear them - and they were considerably cheaper than I'd pay locally.
I love that etsy enables creative people to make some money without having to commit their whole lives / bank balances to running their own shop, and I love that I can buy from people world-wide.

My daughter has a shop there:
Inky Productions
There's a link in my signature line.
She also has a blog where she talks more about her creations.
http://inkyproductions.blogspot.com/So far, she has done more locally with commissions, and selling to those who see us wear it.

I love it too, and have found a number of indie brands (soapmakers, etc.) I've heard of elsewhere, and lots of creative folk producing high-quality products. There are a LOT of vendors and it really helps that you can search by type of product, vendor name, "tags" etc. otherwise it'd become overwhelming! There's that amusing "Pounce" feature - you can look at the last products sold, or a vendor who has yet to make their first sale. So far I've had good experiences.
