Someone should have told them if they weren't smart enough to figure it out. That gesture is on a par with the N word for blacks.
It's not taken lightly, even if someone doesn't know better. It's not innocent fun, even if that is how they thought they meant it.

Exactly right, PerfumeMe. Where the heck were the team managers and coaches? No doubt a bunch of immature kids thought they were being 'cute.' As somebody who's known a lot of pro photogs, I can attest many of them aren't the sharpest people you'll ever meet.

The adults in charge of the teams are positively to blame. They need to be penalised.
