First thought that came to mind was the waitress coming by and giving your coffee a little "squirt" of milk, like they do with cheese at an Italian place!! Ewwww!

Interesting! No qualms on the gustatory level. I wonder about the producers, while knowing full well that some produce more milk than their babies can drink. Concern for theoretical wetnurses of a different sort.

I'm not big on drinking a warm, white, liquid which comes from the teats of cows...let alone a warm, whitish liquid which comes from the breasts of women.

Seconded , though I love dairy , never have I been able to swallow warm milk down my mucousy throat without gagging as per Catie's post , throw in a body temp body fluid , and I have to steady myself on a piece of furniture.

Well, I don't have any desire to drink someone else's breast milk but I'm interested that it is actually being sold as a "food". I've breastfed both my children and quite honestly - these babies - they love nothing better than a good cuddle and nurse of their mother's milk. The milk is incredibly nutritious and comforting too but I'm not sure there is any reason to give it to adults. If I was starving though, I'm sure I'd give it a try. I just have no reason to drink it right now!
I'm laughing (in a good-hearted way - :0) ) at members here who are "grossed-out". Honestly - breast milk is THE most favourite food of a breast-fed baby or toddler. They'll stop a tantrum, stop playing, do anything at all to get that milk - there must be something in it that tastes good. My 5 year old would confirm this opinion except he can't remember nursing. :-)

I don't think I need to go there and I won't eat rat meat either...not related except both seem too regressive.

Since breastmilk is the original human food, I don't see it as much of a stretch to extend its use. But then, I'm a life-long milk drinker, so I'm not put off by that idea.
As to the taste... yes, I remember thinking breastmilk was quite tasty. When I was nursing, I licked drips of my own milk off my hands and arms numerous times. It was not too fatty, and sweet... like a lightly sweetened 1% milk.

I dont like milk period, not just because I am lactose intolerant, but I just do not like the taste of it. I was never breast fed, thank goddess. I find it repulsive that grown people would want to drink it. MY husband says it tastes disgusting (from his ex-gf). Not me, no kids, dont want kids, wouldnt even breast feed if I did have kids.

Well, I don't like the idea of drinking the milk of any mammal...and while I was breast-fed...I can't remember what mother's milk tasted like, for the life of me. And I'm glad for that. LOL
I also won't give much credence to what babies think is delicious. I mean...they gobble down that tasteless stuff in the glass jars as if it were the best of gourmet fare.
I'm afraid my palate has aged...and it needs much more complex textures and tastes to keep it content.
I do like cheese and I do add milk to my tea and coffee...but drinking plain cow's (or goat's or whatever!) milk makes me queasy. Human milk would be...the final frontier...and I ain't goin' there. *LOL*

Amazing how people seem to have no problem ingesting a substance that comes out of a bovine but are afraid of what was meant to sustain them from birth.
I don't drink milk, but I eat yogurt.
If given the choice between human milk and cow milk, I would go with human milk.

Well, I admit to loving some cow's milk and goat's milk cheeses and I force myself to eat yogurt and do drink a sploosh of half-n-half in my coffee...milk in my tea...but at least I know they cows haven't been all promiscuous and their bodily fluids possibly teeming with some viral buggies.
Oh, the cows might be pumped full of antibiotics and other things, but I'd rather take my chances with their body fluids than with a human's.
There's something just not right about an adult drinking a woman's breast milk, IMHO.
But, hey, this comes from a woman who really doesn't think that drinking any kind of milk is all that great. *shrug*

That scene made me spew a mouthful of peanut M&Ms. I know the movie is considered gross and vulgar by most, but I couldn't help laughing from start to finish. Just don't tell my boss... or my mom!

That one was pretty extreme, yes. I kept wondering how it was to even shoot such a scene, for the crew. Talk about weird!

I can never recall if the cheese scene is in the actual film or in the bonus section of the DVD.
I took a huge gamble and highly recommended the film to my mother , I was not quite sure how she would react ( I could have been disowned )but I do know she loves the whole stranger in a strange land premise. I am relieved to say that though she found it highly vulgar she laughed in spite of herself.

I only saw it in the theater so the scene is part of the movie, not just an extra. And what a cool mom! Mine would have fainted.
