I wrote a couple of comments in a thread about the economic collapse, started by mimiboo... This morning I received a couple of emails from kind and warm-hearted POLers who wanted "to apologize for that awful behavior on the economic collapse thread" and "encourage you not to let it bother you", as well as explaining "that narrow-mindedness is not typical of all Americans" which I know very well. Thnk you so much for your kindness!
But hey, the thread had disappeared! I did not have a chance to read the nasty stuff and insults that were thrown at me!
Don't worry about me, I am very well aware that we are all individuals regardless where we come from. And I am wearing a flame-proof suit!

no, no -- it's still there, thanks to our moderators who deserve a lot of credit for their conservative approach on this one. Look up -- it's called Why Are We Doing THings Differently or something like that.

Yes, it's still there. And my In box has been flooded with equally kind and warm-hearted POLers who thanked me for what I said, for which I'm also grateful.
Mods, perhaps this topic should be merged with the post in question, since it wasn't, in fact, deleted?

Oh it was there all right! Thanks! Like mimiboo said "I find the over reaction to this thread bizarrely amusing and actually quite ridiculous" and I must agree. It was in a way amusing to see how people did not listen to what was said, did not want to understand what someone else was saying, fanning the flames by themself and revealing how over-sensitive they were.
Now you can delete this thread.

Actually, allure, I don't think there's a lot of oversensitivity. Tone is difficult to convey in writing, and people reacted to the perceived tone as much as to what was said.
