The Refined One
Oct 5 2008, 09:29 PM
Leaving tomorrow for almost a week in MI - my sister is donating her kidney to our brother-in-law on Wed.
And, I'll be taking my younger son to visit everyone before the surgery........some of you may remember some of the difficulties he had, and he just got out of prison last week after two and half years.
A little scarey but I'm actually feeling pretty positive about both the surgery and my son.
Of course, I do have to squelch the urge to try to put his life back together for him/solve his problems, but I think I'm making progress there. :-)
I won't be on the board much for obvious reasons but would appreciate whatever prayers, positive thoughts, love, light, energy, etc. you could send my family's way this week. Thanks!

Good thoughts and prayers for a successful family get together and a successful, rapid recovery for the surgeries.
People who donate organs are really remarkably selfless. I admire them.

That's a lot for your family to be going through, Tambri, I will certainly be praying for a very successful transplant, and that your sister and brother in law will come through it all ending up both well, praying God guides the hands of the skilled Doctors, and looks after you too Tambri, as you take your son with you.

UPDATE: Spent a week back home in MI and everything went amazingly, gloriously, miraculously well.
Good visit with (both) my son(s), my sister flew back home to FL 3 days after the transplant and my brother-in-law was discharged 6 days after the surgery.
They're both still healing but are doing amazingly well.
I am, frankly, humbled - I truly think these kinds of things are miracles - and very, very thankful.
Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts!
