Well, just wanted to tell you all. Some of you older POL people know my husband died almost 5 years ago. I've had the 2 year relationship, more dates good & bad than I want to remember.
One month ago, I met someone who is rocking my world.
He was on Yahoo Personals. I wasn't terribly impressed with his pictures, but the profile told me he was a very stable, loving, romantic, caring man. I met him for a drink one Sunday afternoon at a local Mexican restaurant. I looked up at him, had a wahoo moment, sat down to get to know him & within 30 minutes, he was saying he loved my laugh, loved how I gestured with my hands when I talked & could we go out on Friday night. Well.....we've been out everyweek-end, danced, movies, dinner, and tonight he is on his way over. Today I received via email the most beautiful poem I've ever read.
He works for the US Government downtown Kansas City, (Homeland Security). Former military, career law enforcement, and a wonder family man.
He's on his way here, have to stop. Can you tell what is going on in my life?
I'll write more.

Your replies are all wonderful. He picked me up for lunch where I worked today. I think things are going well.
Yes, US Government - Homeland Security. I get little bits of information, they can't say much. He loves his job & I love that he is part of our protection.

Have you been to his office and apartment yet? It's always good to visit platonicly
before you sleep with him, just to make sure he lives alone. That isn't always foolproof, as I found out many years ago when I was young and naive. My boyfriend had two houses -- one here and one in London. The wife was usually in London with the kids. He was "separated." Yeah, by a few thousand miles but very much married! Lesson learned.

I also want to meet the parents asap (if they are still living) - it's instructive to see what kind of an example of a relationship he got at home.
