I picked up a bottle from perfume-bay. Pretty good prices on SL. Anyway I really like Cedre. It is like a pretty wrapped present that reveals a little of itself with each ribbon untied and paper unfolded. I wore it the other night and then went to gym in the morning and I kept getting wiffs of tuberose and of the nicest cedre box with touches of spices. Reminded me of my grandmothers cedre chest with her beautiful linens inside. I dont hear much about this one and I wonder if anyone likes it.
Have you tried it? What do you think?

Yes!
Not a tuberose fan, goes very sickly cloying on me,but Cedre I can wear. I always get this medical like note which I find very addictive.

Another one I havenīt tried.. but I will some day. For some reason the notes "tuberose and cedar" clashes in my mind. Tuberose is a difficult note for me.. sometimes i hate it.. and sometimes i love it.. even the same tuberose perfume. Hmm.. but maybe the cedar balances it out.. ?? Yes.. this is a "need-to-try"-scent.. definitely :). Thank you for reminding me of it

I totally agree with Donna. I don't usually like tuberose either.

I have just recently discovered Serge Lutens fragrances - I have only tried samples of A la Nuit, Daim Blond and Cedre. I love all three, but Cedre is my favorite! I would love to own a full bottle of this.

this one likes colder weather/evenings, I dislike the white musk I get when I apply Cedre with a light hand...I keep the spice and the cedar if I double or triple spritz in one area. I love tuberose and cedar but this one is a favorite.

I have always loved most cedar-y scents, but when I tested the SL, all I got was cedar...nothing else. And because it's such a *dry* cedar scent, it just did not appeal to me at all. I had hoped to fall in love with it...was sure that I would, but nope. I enjoy hearing that it works so well for some of you though. :-)

Isn't that funny? I didn't get any cedar, just tuberose (which I don't care for). I have a decant, though, and I haven't given it a second try yet. Maybe I'll do that tonight or tomorrow.

That really IS funny, Twitchy! But I am not at all surprised. Sometimes my skin will do funky things to a fragrance. ;-)

Giving my decant another try:
On first squirt, I do get cedar and that medicinal note. I'm also getting lots of tuberose.
As it dries down, the tuberose stays strong. The cedar adds a little zing, which is nice, but I just can't tolerate that tuberose on my skin. It's odd, because I don't mind the scent so much when I stick my wrist right up to my nose. But the clouds of scent it creates around me (strong fragrance!) are gagworthy. Definitely doesn't work with my chemistry. A scrubber, I'm afraid.
Which means I have a small (5 ml? 7 ml?), nearly unused decant of Cedre to swap. :-(

I recently tried a sample of this, opposite Arabie. Though i have yet to purchase a Serge scent, and Arabie is more to my liking, this is a nice scent. I didn't really get much tuberose, I got mostly cedar and spice. I agree it smells like my antique cedar chest (which I love). The tuberose only peeks through intermittently.

I don't like SL's cedar notes and I have a love/hate relationship with tuberose. So why do I like Cedre? Ah, the mystery of perfume.
