I knew if I smelled enough perfumes,I'd eventually find matches for all. Here are my latest-
Dior's DUNE + St. JOHN by Marie Gray
NIKI de SAINT PHALLE + CAVALE by Faberge
Will post more in the future-these are freshest in my mind, though.

Recent discoveries for me have been:
Lady Caron and Spring Flower... I don't think these two even share notes in common. Maybe it's their high pitched quality...not a bad thing.
Cristalle and Diorella
Bal a Versailles and My Sin could be 1st cousins
Miss Dior and Vol de Nuit
Guerlain's Terracotta and Nutmeg & Ginger by Jo Malone
Chanel No.5, Nuit de Noel edt and Madame Rochas
Oscar de la Renta edt(not the original) and Jardins de Bagatelles
Chamade and Hermes Rouge
Jicky and Caron Pour Uu Homme
Vent Vert original and Chanel No. 19 could be 2nd cousins
Halston and Dioressence
Youth Dew and her Southern Bell cousin Savannah Gardens

I don't really get the Youth Dew and Savannah Gardens comparison on my skin- it smells more floral/vanillac to me.
I think Cinnabar and Opium are pretty close.
I think Kuumba Made Amber Paste and Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan have something in common, too.
Cofinluxe Red Watt smells a little like Angel but without the bitter, dirt-like smell Angel leaves on my skin.

Hello!
Here's my list of scent "matches" (new ones & "original" ones):
- Cuir Mauresque & Heure Bleue - love both.
- Hypnose & Hypnotic Poison - kinda like them.
- Dolce Vita & Feminité du Bois - like the former, love the latter.
- Spellbound & Poison - dislike both.
- Tolu & Sublime - like the former, love the latter.
- Préparation Parfumée & Angéliques Sous La Pluie - love both.
I think those smell quite similar to my nose, sharing most of the main notes. Not to say that they are deliberate copies, but certainly bear a striking ressemblance to one another.
Cheers!

Why am I the only one yet who doesn't think the perfumes mentioned are not smell alikes?
Neighbours living on the same street , yes , but not in the same appartment.
( I have to say that Cinnabar though is very close to Opium ...but not quite)

I was introduced to Sonia Rykel the original by another POL'er b/c she said it smelled alot like Chance by Chanel and she was absolutely right. So in my experience, I think
Sonia Rykel and Chance are smell-alikes
Kenzo Flowers and Lolita Lempicka - smell similar/always remind me of eachother

I'm with you. Everytime we have this thread I marvel at what other people smell that I don't. There are some comparisons here that I wouldn't even put in the same neighborhood. But that's why perfume is such an objective experience.

Actually, I did mean subjective in individual response, but objective in the sense that "for you" it is what it is, and it isn't what it isn't.
Hadn't had my first cup of coffee when I wrote that!! ;-)

I know I have a few, but the only ones that come to mind right now are:
Angel = Lolita Lempika = Mauboissen = Borneo = Sonia Rykel (I forget which one, but it's not 7esens, or the Woman one)
SL Datura Noir = L'artisan La Chasse Aux Papillons

Wow. Some of these that I know, I'm thinking, No WAY! Smell is really subjective after all.
It's interesting to smell ones that you *think* are smell-alikes, side by side. Often, notes leap out that you never expected. Can't think of any specific examples right now but this is a fun experiment.
Off the top of my head I think Cacharel Lou Lou and Vicky Tiel smell just alike.

Hmmm...I don't think Spellbound and Poison are anything alike. Poison smells like grapes and berries with a heavy amber base. Spellbound has peach, apricot, CARNATION, jasmine, roses, and isn't nearly as sweet... it has a certain cleanness to it, that Poison just doesn't have. It also has a distinct "regular black Chapstick" aroma, that I find so intriguing. The closest scent to Spellbound is Jil Sander No. 4, IMO.

Except for some of the Angel comparisons, I don't really find any of these scents to be alike...some are a bit similar, but not ringers. I do think that Reve Indienne by Fragonard is a lot like Shalimar EDT, but less like the other strengths. Some of the florals with heavy tuberose/gardenia notes seems similar but that's probably due to my fear of ODing on tuberose in it's more blatant incarnations. Usually I can tell the difference between say, "No Regrets" and Rochas' Poupee, but when the tuberose is at it's peak, they smell the same!

Just got a bottle of Tigress yesterday and yep - smells just like En Avion.
BeckerEshaya smells like Clinique Happy
Musc Ravageur smells like Indecence which is like Obsession which smells like Alma di Alma which smells like Navy which smells a bit like Angelique Encens. Just tweak the musk to amber a little in whichever direction.
Attrape Couer does NOT smell like Guet Apens, at least not on the first try.
I love finding a super cheap fragrance that smells like something rare and expensive. I found a Jovan fragrance for 1.00 at Big Lots that could not smell more like Nanadebary Pink if it tried.
OJ Champaca is a ringer for Clarins Elysium.
Pleasures Intense smells identical to Laura Ashley No.1, God Rest its beautiful soul.
Vol de Nuit smelled an awful lot like Chanel 5 to me, as does one of the Divine fragrances.
Garden Botanika Heart smells a bit like Amazing Grace.
Madini Musc Gazelle smells like Narcisse Noir.
Opium smells like Old Spice.
I could go on for days.......

And another ... I just tried a sample of SL's Bois Oriental today, and it smells *exactly* like Feminite du Bois. So I looked up the family tree:
1992: Bois Oriental by Chris Sheldrake
1992: Feminite du Bois by Chris Sheldrake and Pierre Bourdon
1996: Dolce Vita by Pierre Bourdon
Hmmmm. Well, I love them all. And I love how Pierre Bourdon managed to take Bois Oriental/Feminite du Bois and make it lighter and happier.
But I do wonder at the Bois Oriental/Feminite du Bois redo. I really do think they're the same scent. A marketing decision maybe, to market the scent under two lines?

Agree with Nahema that Reves Indien is a kissing cousin to Shalimar, but without the cloying note in Shalimar I so dislike.

I cannot tell the difference between SJP's Lovely & NR's For Her when I have them both on - they're interchangeable to me. Now I know some of you are going to think I'm off my rocker, but on me Creed's Spring Flower & Burberry's Weekend smell very much alike.

I will be able to tell the difference, but these ones are very close:
Pure Turqoise and Champs Elysees (Pure Turqoise can be easiy replaced with Fructis shampoo or conditioner too)
Miss Dior and Ma Griffe
Tabu and Obsession
No. 19 and l'Heure Exquise
Ivoire and that discontinued green jasmine and rose scent from Penhalligon (sorry, I keep forgetting the name!)
Shalimar and Fleur Oriental
Aqaba and Asja
Ode a l'Amour and Euphoria
Allure for men and Opium for men
Samsara and Tuscany per Donna
Lovely and Narcisso Rodriguez
Also:
Tocade and l'Instant
Tresor and Lipstick Rose (I prefer Lipstick Rose, but they have a very similar idea)
Jean Paul Gautier for women and Serge Lutens Fleur d'Oranger (I prefer Fleur d'Oranger - again, a similar idea of a sweet orange blossom scent, only that Lutens' has a lot more orange blossom).
I am sure some will hate me for the last two ideas I have expressed, but as I said - I don't think they are identical, just very very similar.
And if my memory serves me correctly, Datura Noir is not unlike Poeme by Lancome... But I will need to double sniff these two again...
