Full Version: Movie Of Your Life
Perfume of Life > A Civilized Perfume Affair > Talk About The Arts
SandraL
Isabella Rossellini or Emanuelle Devos
glorious1
Natalie Wood, Steve McQueen, and Burt Reynolds.
GalileosDaughter
Audrey Tatou or Julia Ormond
Chenas
Thelma Ritter or Francoise Dorleac.

I love Emanuelle Devos in Arnaud Desplechin's movies. She is one of the great examples of "jolie laide."
rasputin
John Cusack.
Catie Ribbons
Well...I think it would be either Joan Cusack or Alfre Woodard.
I'd be honoured with either of those shining stars. :-)
Armanis
Montgomery Clift.
nubka
Hmmm...Lisa Hartman or Markie Post, because I've been told many times (in my 20's) that I look like them.

If I had to pick someone more contemporary, I guess it would be Winona Ryder (but she would have to put on a ton of weight for the role!!)
ellennyc
I don't know who plays me but Gerard Butler plays my husband. Maybe I will play myself!! yeah...
bookworm
Diane Keaton or Mia Farrow.
Prince Barry
Ben Whishaw.
frangipani
Is this fantasy or for real?

Chenas took my picks.

If it's against Gerard Butler, I'll play you!
Fulltiltredhead
Young Simone Signoret.
BitterGrace
Jeanne Moreau. And everyone will say, She was nothing like that in real life.
winemaven
In my 30's, I was told I looked like Anne Archer in Fatal Attraction. Oh to look like that again ;-) !
Isabella Rosellini or when I get into my 70's, Judi Dench...of course, she won't be here then :-(

I have Jamie Lee Curtis' hair-cut and going-gray look and sort-of her bod (maybe I'm a bit slimmer)...so she would be fine too.
fiori
Emily Mortimer
VelvetSky
Hmmm. Candice Bergen?

Candace Bergen for me too!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love it to be Angelica Huston.
Alas, I'm not sure I'm that much Woman right now.
I do hope I come merit that kind of goddess-woman as I grow.

(Edited to add: I look nothing like her. Much shorter, for one.)
Catie Ribbons
Well...I don't look like Joan Cusack, really, or Alfre Woodard...
I picked them for their personality and bodies of work, and Cusack does have something, peronality-wise...like me, so I figured it wouldn't be such a stretch.

I didn't realize we were just supposed to pick actors whom we think we look like. :-|

Sorry, Catie, didn't mean to imply we needed to pick based on looks - my comment about AH's looks was just one more way of saying "She rocks."

I pick her basically because she embodies (in my totally skewed picture of the characters she plays, most strongly in the Tanenbaums & Life Aquatic roles) the intelligence, strength, quirkiness, passion, & offbeat-yet-intense womanliness that I strive for.

...plus, she's hot.

:)
GalileosDaughter
I thought that it was a fantasy pick. Well, my husband says I look like Julia Ormond, and I *do*, if you knock back a couple of slugs of whisky and squint your eyes....

I've been told by more neutral observers that I look like Geena Davis or (gasp) Marie Osmond.
Twitchly
No idea who looks like me, but I'd love to have Meryl Streep or Kathy Bates. Or Linda Hunt.
Catie Ribbons
Ohhhh....

OK.
If we can pick someone totally beautiful...drop-dead gorgeous...I don't want Gerard Butler to play my husband.
I want him to play...meeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
*LOL*
I'd be sooooo dreamy...I wouldn't be able to stand myself. *LOL* ;-)

I do like Joan Cusack. I think she could handle my 'quirks' really well. *LOL*
Rosebud
I'd love for it to be Cate Blanchett, but I look nothing like her.
I'd say Isabella Rossellini or Ashley Judd for my picks.
The Refined One
Emma Thompson.

No, we look nothing alike, I just like her!
Lady jicky
It would have to be Stockard Channing as I love her!
AbstractionWhiteRose
Audrey Hepburn. I aspire!
MizLiz
Kate Beckinsale or Keeley Hawes.
Demetrue
Patricia ArquetteClick to view attachment

I used to be told I looked like a dark haired Edie Adams but in reality I think only Zasu Pitts could do me justice.
TovahAgain
On MyHeritage.com my face came up with Kate Hudson as a "look-alike." Hmmm. I'd rather be played by her mother, Goldie Hawn. (Nothing against Kate, but I really relate to Goldie-type characters).
ElizabethDamon
A movie of my life? I'd pick the following to star as "yours truly". And, I look like none of these actresses ....

Carole Lombard
Rosalind Russell
Ann-Margret
susanwinters
Fun thread! I would say Susan Sarandon, definitely.

Juliette Lewis!

I can't even imagine what got bleeped out .... same name, same boyfriend, same birthday ...
LisaCarol
Ah well, when this thread first came I thought "oh no" because the one celebrity I look like (quite a bit too) is Chloë Sevigny - and I don't like her at all. I think she's trashy and as far from Grace Kelly style as you could possibly come. However, I just now did a search for images on her and in fact, she's had her classy moments. So, if can do looks like this, she can do me I suppose.
