Full Version: Need Buying Advice Fast!

Well, I'm going to Indianapolis tomorrow... primarily for a doctor's appointment, but also for smelling purposes.

Since Basenotes is down right now, I'll need sniffing advice ASAP on what to buy in the Crossroads City, as I have a any-use Visa gift card (probably $100 or more) on my way as well as a card of unknown value for Sephora. The mall I'm going to (Keystone) has a Saks and a Sephora, so I'm pretty much set.

So, I need the help of your noses. The Saks there has Creed, Jo Malone, Bond No. 9, and such, while the Sephora has your typical Sephora lineup. These are some of the smells I was considering:
  • Bond No. 9 Wall Street
  • Gaultier2 (if Sephora has it in yet... they're saying it might finally be in this week)
  • Creed Himalaya
  • Hanae Mori HM EdP
  • Bvlgari the Rouge
  • Marc Jacobs for Men

I'll need the suggestions by 11 AM tomorrow.

P.S.: Don't suggest Terre d'Hermes... I ordered that already!

I would go for the Himalaya. I just don't like the Gaultier 2 at all.

There is thread currently running on the forum about Marc Jacobs for Men.

If you have the time, please travel west of the Fashion Mall to Nora Plaza to check out Moorman's Perfume Shop. It's a boutique that's been in operation for many years. They carry lots of the classics, plus bath & body products, Longlost Perfumes and the Rance line. It's a really beautiful shop. Nora Plaza has a Target store in the mix, so it's easy to find.

I would suggest sniffing out, Zanzibar, by Van Cleef and Arpel. I've gifted that to young men, a doctor who is my age, and to a number of other individuals. I love, this fragrance . . . it's more of a fall / winter scent, but thoroughly appropriate, anytime, anyplace. Some women I know, love it on themselves.

I happen to enjoy Memoire D'Homme, too . . . that one's difficult to locate, inside of stores . . . perhaps during your next, online shopping experience.

Let me know about Terre D'Hermes . . .

I think Gaultier2 is great. It's more of a women's scent.
I know someone who's offering a deal on Bvlgari Red, if you love that one after trying it, PM me.

:O)

If you don't already know it, definitely give Hermes Rocabar a try. The others you've listed are all worthy of sniffing, although of the bunch HM is my favorite.

I'd try the Bond No. 9 line...it is hard to find.

Keystone Crossings is a great place to shop...lots of strip malls around it as well. (I used to go to conferences in that area when there were only a few industrial Hotel/Motels there). There is a Nordstrom's downtown, too, and a nice drive down Meridian Avenue with lovely homes to look at and a war memorial worth seeing, too.

Have a great day.
