I made this turkey two years agao, and it was my best ever. Very moist from the champagne and also from the stream of the apples in side releasing moisture into the bird. I served 20 people that Thanksgiving, and raves all around. Best of all, it's so easy!!

Oohhh this sounds good! I might just try it for Thanksgiving dinner ... I'm having dinner for the whole family for the first time in ten years :O

It's very delicious and fairly easy too! It browned nicely and the meat practically fell off the bone. I didn't think it had much, if any, champagne flavor, but I only tried the breast meat.

Thanks for the recipe! I have only made turkey once (in Denmark duck is the traditional x-mas bird), and it ended up so dry that it had practically no taste.
I'll try to make it with champagne. Somehow it sounds so inviting. :-)

So it does brown? That would be very important. Several people in my family think the only really delicious part of the turkey is the skin, when it is crispy.

What do you do if you have a bigger turkey? A 12 lb. turkey sounds like a real big chicken.

Sorry, I don't know Glo, maybe I didn't even pay attention to the size. I know my turkey fed the 20 people I have with lots of leftovers. I don't remember the size it was.
