Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, the next time I'm in NYC, I can visit all the scent landmarks (Caron, Barney's, Aedes) and DB can visit chocolatiers to his heart's content.

Ugh! Too much chocolate would make me sick! Too much perfume--there is no such thing!

Ooo, there's a little chocolate shop a couple of doors down from L'Artisan in NY, something like Kee's chocolates - they were very nice. Unusual flavors, like green tea/dark chocolate, lavender/dark chocolate, etc.

Very interesting, Sill! Now, this would be a great idea in the winter but just thinking of all that choco in the heat a humidity makes me a bit ill. Hope they do it again in January or February, I'll go.

Joann, you should know that there's no such thing as "too much chocolate!"

FTR, I've been to that shop before. It's either called Kee's Chocolates or Yee's Chocolates. And the owner sells plants in addition to her chocolate, and her chocolates are very good. She makes a creme brulee truffle that's great and sells out very quickly.

I have yet to go to Jacques Torres's store, but my current faves are Pierre Marcolini on Park Ave., which is a few blocks away from the Caron boutique, and good old Neuhaus.

There's something on that website about chocolate martinis, and I'm sorry, but that's just freaking disgusting.
