Reading the very thorough obit found on the CTV site, I didn't realize how much Aaron Spelling influenced TV viewing in the past few decades. Of the shows mentioned, a couple of my favourites were Love Boat and Hart to Hart.

RIP Aaron, your family will miss you.

I loved Love Boat and Hart to Hart too.

He was a giant in TV and he even made his daughter a "star".

I am sure he will be greatly missed by his family.

I was a closet Fantasy Island fan, myself. (Of course, I was only about 10 or 12, so I have an excuse.) But he did change TV permanently. He was definitely a visionary of sorts. His brain must've worked overtime, all the time.

WOW, I missed this.

Yes, he was very prolific on TV.....I adored 7th Heaven of his most recent shows and watched many, many others of his.
May he rest in peace.

Heather Locklear would still be an unknown, were it not for Mr. S.

Yes, Aaron Spelling had a long and influential career in television. He worked very hard in that industry even though perhaps many people only know him as the father of "Tori Spelling"?

I rarely watch television these days. But, I did rent a few episodes of I Love Lucy and watched one episode last night. The show was called "Tennessee Bound" and aired in 1955. At the end, I learned that the young actor playing a very very hickish country bumpkin was Aaron Spelling! A little bit of googling and I discovered this small role was his first major screen credit. What a surprise just now to learn he had passed away.

Another Hart to Hart and Love Boat fan here. :)

What a legacy this guy left behind and what a grand life he must have lived. Those will be very tough shoes to fill or follow in.

As far as I'm concerned, Heather Locklear is still an unknown.

He considered Heather Locklear his lucky charm.

That's true, Scentual . . . and one thing impressed me about Ms. Locklear's story . . . she claims at least, never once to have been 'hit on' by Mr. Spelling, who simply 'gave her a career.' That's what I heard Miss L. say, during a television interview.

When Heather did Spin City, I think he gave her his blessing. He really adored her. He also said, if he does another series, he will have Heather guest starring, just like Melrose Place. My god, that show got me so tensed up. Amanda (Heather) was really a witch!
