Givenchy will also debut Amarige Mariage, in the brand's venerable Amarige franchise, in August in the U.S. It will be carried in about 1,100 department and specialty store doors here, including Macy's, Sephora, Dillards and sephora.com.
Amarige Mariage — the latter name an anagram of Amarige — is a Chypre Oriental concocted by Symrise, said Linda Maiocco, vice president of marketing in the U.S. for Guerlain and Parfums Givenchy. Top notes are of Sicilian bitter orange and Calabrian bergamot; the heart is of magnolia and Egyptian jasmine, and the drydown is of patchouli, Siam benzoin and sandalwood. The bottle is intended to resemble a feminine shape, and the silver-hued neck is intended to evoke a wedding ring.

Hmmm. . .I absolutely love Amarige D' Amour but had trouble wearing the original (just too heavy on the tuberose I guess). I'll be very interested in smelling this one.

I would love to smell this one.
I still am a huge fan of the discontinued Amarige Extravagance which I repurchased many times over the years.
This new one sounds very nice and the great thing about the new releases is that sample vials flow like rivers after they launch! YAY!

I am very interested in this one. The list of notes is right up my alley.
While I can no longer wear the original Amarige, I still love Extravagance d'Amarige, which is NOTHING like the origninal. I don't even know why the houses connect names like this, Givenchy being one of the worst offenders.
It's kind of pathetic to me...them having to recycle best-sellers names...adding to them, mixing around the letters...
Boo...Givenchy. Get some cahones and let a new scent stand -- or fall -- all on its own.

I love Extravagance too and used to wear it a lot. This new one is very heavy on the patchouli, another Prada type, sorry to say.

Okay...not to veer off topic here but I am putting Extravagance on my list of Stock Up On items. I have a few squirts left in my small bottle and I've been rationing it. I'm going to "get while the gettin's good!"
Back ON TOPIC...hope the new Amarige Mariage is wonderful!
I love the smell of Amarige but I don't know that it's FOR ME!
One of the times I wore it and got a headache and I RARELY get headaches!
It definitely has a personality of it's own!

I got the chance to sniff this at Macys tonight. They just got it in. I think this one is quite lovely and I could not stop sniffing my hand where I sprayed it when I left the store. I think it would be very nice for fall. Cinnamon is not listed in the notes here but the SA read to me that it had cinnamon in it (from the box or bottle) and I could definitely detect it. This is along the lines of Hanae Mori Haute Couture or Giselle by Carla Fracci, both of which also have jasmine and spice. This fragrance also reminds me of a fragrance from my past long ago- maybe something like Ciara. It is driving me crazy trying to remember. I may just cave on this one. I am seriously condsidering it.

I sprayed this again today at Macy's and really like it. I am considering buying it. I think it is lovely for fall- softly spicy and powdery. My only concern is lingering power. It is always hard to tell from just spraying on the hand or wrist if it will linger. Has anyone bought this yet and if so, does it linger well? I love the cinnamon in this one.

Hey Sue!!!!
Pretty sure I saw this about 10 days ago in Sephora, along with the new Guerlain one, and Vera Wang's Princess

Sephora had it... I got them to make me a sample of it. It strikes me as quite creamy, and more oriental than chypre. Did not hate it, but am not sure I like it enough to want to buy it. Needs some more road testing.

I've tried it. It's much more wearable than Amarige...........but it's not me.
