Oh no, that's just wrong!

I saw these skirts, some time ago . . . truly I don't think they look much worse than lots of what's considered to be 'acceptable' clothing, nowadays.
Perfumefanatic
At first glance I thought this was just a very sheer skirt! It's actually silk screened?
Seems like a waste of silk, lol. This is obviously just another trend/fad/whatever aimed to shock and get attention.

Hummm, do you think this will catch on in the U.S.?
Rosebud
I thought you were asking what we felt were the worst trends before I opened this. That silk-screened thing is bad. I was ready to reply with shoulder pads and parachute pants as my answers. :P

Rosebud----

I'm so embarrassed to say this, but in the mid 1980's I had a pair of those parachute pants. Eeeek! I think I wore them a few times, but I was self conscious in them because I am tall and they were not quite long enough.

Oh...I LOVED shoulder pads. And...I've got some really broad shoulders. I made Linda Evans' shoulders look...dainty. But...I loved those pads!
One day I'll 'tell' y'all about an embarrassing moment I had...when one of those pads you just slipped into your blouse...fell out in a store...and a man retrieved it...thinking it was a fake boob.
But...I kept on wearing them...
*LOL*

I had parachute pants, too! Hey it was the 80's, so it was o.k... Besides, if they were good enough for Van Halen, they were good enough for me...LOL!!

Lol Nubka. Alot of the guys I hung out wore them to. Gosh, I loved and miss the 80's. :)

The kitten heel: dowdy, fussy and a royal pain in the ###### to walk in.
Give me flats or F me heels, but throw the fuddyduddy contrived footwear in the fire, please.
Rosebud
No parachute pants for me, but I liked and still like kitten heels, CarnalVenom. I think they're kinda sexy.

Not for me, Rosebud... I hate the way they make the calf look, and I can always tell if a woman is wearing kitten heels even if I can't see her feet: by the posture and gait they invariably give every single woman who wears them.

High heels, yes: I had stopped wearing them after a back injury, but that healed
quite well and I am comfortable in them again, though I never wear them for extended periods of time. Bought these in the spring, for several dress up things I needto attend this summer, so far they've been comfortable and I have been able to wear them with several different outfits:

But on an everyday, run around basis, I prefer flats: something about the comfort and graceful posture they allow that I find much more attractive than the turkey perched on a rail look that kitten heels give. (at least that's always been how kitten heels look, to me, and I find them really uncomfortable, too)

I'm picking those up, today, for the fall/winter season:

Because I cannot see the point with high heels on icy sidewalks! ;)

These skirts were proved to be an urban legend. The images are photoshopped.
VelvetSky
Well my kitten heels look sexy as hell on me. :) I don't/won't wear high heels, so kitten heels are a great alternative to stacked heels or wedges.

Those boots are sooooo cute, CV!

Really? Thank god!

Where is the info on photoshopping, if you have it, please? Want to send to someone.

Those boots are gorgeous! Who makes them?

I like kitten heels and look good in them. They're usually more comfortable on me than ballerinas or other flats. Maybe height and overall size make a difference in the way heels work for people.

I meant to say the wearer's height and overall size.

Thanks Hon. :D

Like I said... it's how kitten heels feel and look to me, I'm no authority on fashion. I tried them a few times, I always felt like an ungainly turkey perched on a slippery rail, somehow. Because of that, I probably looked like one, too!

I can also wear platforms if they're well proportionned and not extreme.

Frangipani, the boots are by Sergio Rossi, here's the link to the full page if you want:

I also like ballerina flats better than kitten heels, they feel familiar and slipper like, to me.

Being "vertically challenged" unless I'm wearing my Teva flips on my tile floor at home or wearing my Brooks running shoes to walk in or go to the gym......you'll always see me in some kind of a heel.

Casual day at work........(posting on POL no doubt!)

OMG! Those Japanese pics are a riot! But........now really........after 5 minutes or so who could walk around like that? That's the tackiest thing I've ever seen. FUNNY though.
Demetrue
The fact that the legs on the skirt match perfectly with the model's legs screams of photo-shopping - I figured the image was initially lifted from soft-core photoshopped stuff playing on the male fantasy of having X-ray vision and being able to see through women's clothing. I'm glad the hoax was eventually "uncovered" - pun intended.

Yep, this thing is several years old, the pictures have been around for a while. I found info about the photoshopped pictures by googling "japanese transparent skirts". They are fantasies of some pervert with photoshoping skills, plenty of time and a dirty imagination.

Good to know!

Thanks for the links!!!

At first I was like "O.o" but am glad to know it isn't so...although I'm sure that there are those who would buy them.
Rosebud
Those boots are like buttah, CV! I think I might have to have something like those for fall/winter.
