What intrigues me, is what, if anything this book will do to elucidate matters. The Eddie Fisher bio, was a biography of Liz, too. I learned more from that book, than from anything else I'd ever read about Miss T. If Taraborrelli can keep from getting mawkish about his subject, some hidden insights may be revealed. I agree totally, that what separates Liz from the pack . . . aside from her astonishing capacity to withstand the influence of drugs, alcohol, and every other imaginable indulgence, is her work to stop the spread, of AIDS. THAT, to me, is what makes Elizabeth Taylor, special. Not her looks. Not her acting. Not her jewelry. It's that controversial, semi-shocking decision to try to lessen the stigma of AIDS, and to dedicate her energy to stop its contagion, that makes this woman so worthwhile.

Well, like I always say...'til the day they shovel you under, you can change, do something worthwhile. La Liz is the Last Great Star, there will never be another like her. Isis indeed.

Liz Taylor was one of the first people to help the AIDS cause. Liz did not just put her name to it but turned up for it!

nubka . . . I wish you had watched Larry King's interview, with ET. She's had another face lift, AND, rhinoplasty. Her nose is half as big as it used, to be. Barely anything, left to it. Also, I think more chin work has been done.

Yeah, I wanted to watch that, but I forgot! I think I've seen a photo from it, though (she is wearing a green shirt?)
I do hope she isn't using the same plastic surgeon as her dear friend, Michael Jackson...LOL!
Still, I think she looks o.k., considering...
(How old is she now, anyway??)Click to view attachment

nubs, that this woman is ALIVE, is a miracle . . . you can see in that shot, that her nose is altogether different . . . barely there. Liz is now, 74.

Well, noses do get bigger as one ages so I assume she wanted it back to the size it once was. Barbra Streisand took a bit off the tip a decade or so ago. They all do it. Often when they go in for a face lift. I always notice these things.
What kind of mother was Liz Taylor? Does anyone know? Is she close to her kids and are they all still alive?

So far as show biz mothers, go . . . Liz is supposed to have been a pretty good one. Don't ask me how she had time to fit motherhood into her schedule. Regarding the new nose . . . in profile, this one is much, much smaller than the nose Liz 'wore,' in Butterfield 8. From what I've read . . . oftentimes when people go in for a face lift, a nose reduction gets thrown in for good measure.

It looks like an old-fashioned microphone, which is probably Larry King's logo ... and YES, her nose is so much smaller! I really prefer the previous nose - it looked elegant as opposed to cutesy.

Demetrue . . . can you IMAGINE having the strength of will and the physical endurance, to undergo another face lift, AND rhinoplasty, at age 74???? THIS, after undergoing around forty other surgeries, in the bargain?? Goodness, I thought Ms. Taylor had 'the perfect, face' of all time . . . never in my life, did I think she's undergo a nose job. Incredible.
