I was browsing basenotes and noticed that the original Nina (hard to find and apparently impossible to find in the US) was discontinued (why am I not surprised ?) BUT there was an entry for a "Nina" 2006. I checked the Nina Ricci website (where Nina and Fleur de fleurs aren't mentioned anyway) and there's an announcement for a soon to be released new fragrance (without any other info). Could it be the new Nina (no doubt reformulated and certainly unfortunately reformulated...).

I sent them an email asking about the fate of Nina (the original) and Nina 2006.

Nina was not first on my wish list but it may change depending on their answer.

I think there was a thread of this yesterday or the day before - it's in an apple shaped bottle and is a very sweet fruity scent.

There's indeed a new Nina and you guessed it, it has nothing in common with the original Nina (now surely discontinued). Tomorrow I'm off to buy some original Nina. Armanis, you can bid farewell to Nina. Thank you for recommending it though.

I found it cazaubon. Sorry abour the double thread. I should have titled mine "Original Nina discontinued". I hate them really. And a copycat of a Cartier bottle. Originality is not their middle name.

Actually I didn't think the bottle was a copy of the Cartier one. It is a beautiful bottle on its own: inspired by Lolita and Be delicious and borrowing the colour of Cartier's only for the juice.
If you see it in real life, it's wonderful.

The juice was not as beautiful as the bottle, that's true and it was a hard act to follow since I fell in love with the bottle, but it's nice for what it is. Very very sweet though. I reviewed it in my blog a couple of days ago, so I guess you saw it from the previous thread.
I think the old Nina can still be got. For the time being, at least.

Does anyone know when the new Nina will be available in the US and where it will be ? I am very anxious to try this one.

Does anyone know when the old Nina was discontinued? I looked and still have a small bottle, but am not sure when I bought it. Maybe in the mid nineties. I do remember I had to get it mail order, it wasnt available retail in my area.
