I'd never seen this movie before and finally got a chance to sit down and watch it today. I luuuuuved it!! Yes, it is campy at times, but it certainly held my attention and the end suprised me...poor Gloria/Liz!

Liz has had her ups and downs certainly, but in this movie she is absolutely gorgeous (Laurence Harvey ain't too shabby, either!) Great wardrobe for Liz, too. I've already gone over to eBay and snapped up a copy, cause I know I'll want to watch this again and again!

Cool movie and great wardrobe. Not my fave Liz movie but I did like it. You might be interested to know that she absolutely HATED the movie and her performance in it. She did it only to fulfill her contract. It is said that after she saw the movie in the projection room, she through her drink at the screen. With this in mind, I could almost see in some scenes how she really dreaded going through the 'process'. But - then again, I think that was part of the characterization too.

Yes, I've read something about that. I think she said on Larry King Live recently, that she still hasn't ever watched that film! Oh well, at least she got on Oscar out of it, LOL!!

Well, nubs . . . as you know, this is one of my all time, favorite films. 'I LOVED IT. EVERY AWFUL MOMENT, I LOVED!!' The car crash at the end, is off the charts, perversion. Did you get the feeling that Gloria 'enjoyed' that, too? I did . . . how about 'Happy,' the owner of the roadside brothel? What a hoot.

Disagree of course, about LT'S appearance . . . already I thought she looked a little like a lush . . . did you notice how different her nose was, in this film?? It's half that size, right now. One more thing: I couldn't understand that strident, neon-orange coat.

Liz did another film, with Laurence Harvey: NIGHTWATCH. A murder mystery . . . not bad. Mr. Harvey died, at age 45.

I have to agree with Armanis, I didn't think this was Liz's best, appearance wise. In this movie she didn't look as 'fresh' and pretty as say in Suddenly Last Summer, where I think she looked beautiful. I thought in BU8 she looked kinda tired.

Nubka, isn't that ironic that she dreaded doing this film and then go the Oscar for it?! You just never know in Hollywood.
Armanis
Remember, 'dax . . . Liz had 'almost died' a number of times, BEFORE her Oscar was awarded. Prevailing thought was that it was a 'sympathy' award. I don't agree . . . I think Liz was fabulous, in BU 8. And, in 'Suddenly Last Summer.'

Did anyone recognize the perfume bottles that Liz tried or were they stock bottles?

Armanis
Struck me that they were decanters, into which Mrs. Weston Ligget had poured her favorites . . .
'put your assets, away . . . you don't have enough . . . '
nubka
Maybe some folks like Liz better in black and white, instead of living color...LOL!

I've never seen Suddenly Last Summer. Is it in glorious black and white?
Armanis
Yes . . . SLS is black and white. YOU MUST SEE IT, NUBKA. It is . . . WILD.

Mama, face it: I was the slut of all time.
